The CIA Performed Mind-Control Experiments on People, These Are Their Stories

The MKULTRA experiment is a part of the CIA’s history that makes you wonder just exactly what else was going on behind closed doors.

MKULTRA was the CIA’s attempt at mind-control over large segments of a population. They tested the effects of narcotics (specifically LSD) on volunteers, inmates, and randomly selected targets who had no idea what was going on, mostly with disastrous results.

LSD comes with a variety of physical and psychological effects including: delusions, visual and auditory hallucinations, impaired perception, fear and paranoia, severe terrifying thoughts and feelings and panic.

There were mixed results with every person who was tested, some even died after being made a part of MKULTRA. Here are 5 people that were targeted by the CIA for experimentation.

You likely know him as the author of the class novel One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, but before that he was a star student-athlete at Stanford University, even earning a spot on the U.S. Olympic wrestling team as an alternate.

Before accidentally becoming a part of the experiment he had never done any drugs or even tasted alcohol. He was told that these experiments were being done to try and help cure insane people. Decades later he found out it was just the exact opposite.

Whitey Bulger was as gangster as it gets. A true danger to those who crossed him the wrong way, he evaded capture by the police for years. When he was eventually taken into custody he volunteered to be part of the experiment in exchange for a lighter sentence. He experience horrible depression and suicidal thoughts during the experiment, he even compared the doctor running the study to Nazi doctor Josef Mengele.

Bulger was so pissed when he found out why he was being experimented on that he considered having Dr. Carl Pfeiffer killed.

Alcatraz History

Hunter was long-time musical collaborator of Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead. Hunter went through the same testing as Ken Kesey but had completely different results. He didn’t know why he was taking the drugs that hadn’t hit the streets yet, but by all accounts he enjoyed the experience. Let’s be honest, someone who works with the Grateful Dead enjoying a psychedelic experience isn’t all that strange.

This Terminally Ill Dog Finished An Epic Bucket List, And Suddenly I Have Dust In My Eyes

When her veterinarian gave Irie the Husky a month to live, her owners did what any sensible person would do: they spoiled her rotten.

But after treating Irie to unlimited steak, fast food and ice cream for a month, Irie was still hanging around. Her nasal cancer made her nose triple in size, but otherwise Irie was healthy and happy as ever. But sadly, her owner Lindsey Hutslar, 24, knew it was just a matter of time before the lovable dog passed away.

“The only treatment available is radiation,” she told Metro, “but that would make her miserable and wouldn’t guarantee her more time.” Instead, Lindsay and her boyfriend Ethan, 24, drew up a “bucket list” of Irie’s favorite things, along with some new adventures they had planned.

Five months later, the list is almost finished. It included lots of fun activities, including meeting a horse,

going kayaking,

and visiting a pumpkin patch.

Her favorite entry on the list was throwing a birthday party, because Lindsay says she had “so much fun with her friends.”

Sadly, Irie is running out of time, but her owners have one last surprise planned before they say goodbye…

Julia Louis-Dreyfus Has Been Diagnosed With Cancer

Julia Louis-Dreyfus, known for her roles on Seinfeld, Veep, and The New Adventures of Old Christine, has just announced some major news about her health.

Louis-Dreyfus has been a pioneer in women’s comedy since her iconic role as Elaine on Seinfeld.

Louis-Dreyfus has always been known for her healthy lifestyle and diet, crediting her family as her inspiration.

“I love vegetables. I should be a vegetarian, and I feel guilty saying I’m not,” she said. “But I like meat and chicken. So I buy organic foods whenever they’re available and shop at my local farmers market whenever I can.”

“I have two growing boys,” she said of her sons Henry, 16, and Charles, 11 with husband Brad Hall. “I’m concerned about what goes in their bodies.”

But no amount of diet and exercise could keep her immune from what she’s been diagnosed with.

A soldier just proved what it is to be brave, when he risked his life to save a woman who had been in a car accident. After witnessing an enormous crash in front of him, Staff Sergeant Cory Hinkle said that he “didn’t think twice” and took off running towards the cars.

Most people would get out of the way of two vehicles that were sending up plumes of smoke, but Hinkle knew he had to step in.

The head-on collision took place near the airport, when one car went over the center line and hit another. After watching this terrifying accident, he realized that the woman who had been hit was having issues getting out of the car. Even though there was gasoline pouring all over the street, Hinkle rushed in because he knew he had to.

Doctors Thought He Had Cancer, But When They Pulled This Out Of His Lungs They All Laughed

Paul Baxter has made medical history, but his case is so embarrassing he probably wishes he hadn’t.

Paul Baxter.BBC

The 47-year-old postal worker had been living with respiratory problems for over a year now. A lifelong smoker who recently had pneumonia, doctors assumed the worst when Baxter told them he was coughing up yellow mucus.

Along with the cough, Baxter had been feeling under the weather for almost a year. An x-ray revealed a shadowy mass in Baxter’s lung, and he was told it was probably lung cancer. To get a better sense of his condition, doctors slid a camera down his throat in a procedure called a bronchoscopy.

That’s when Baxter’s routine case took a strange turn. “The doctor went in with the camera to start with, and he says ‘I can see something,’” Baxter told the BBC. Paul was scheduled to come back later to remove the mystery object from his airway.

But when the doctor pulled it out, everyone in the room started laughing…

Pamela Anderson Distraught Over Hugh Hefner’s Death, Shares Tearful Tribute

On Wednesday, September 27, the founder of Playboy, Hugh Hefner passed away at his famous mansion surrounded by loved ones.

Hefner not only changed the way America and the world viewed sex, he had a huge impact on popular culture and publishing. He helped shape the careers of many celebrities and he broke down barriers that stood in the way of free speech and civil rights.

Minutes after the news of his death broke, tributes began to pour in. From actors and politicians, to former Playmates and cover models, social media was filled with messages, videos, and photos that honor the businessman’s legacy.

But the most heartfelt tribute of them all came from model and actress Pamela Anderson, who owes her success to Hefner. Anderson graced the cover of Playboy in October 1989 which helped launched her career in Hollywood. She appeared in the publication frequently, and was named Playmate of the month in February 1990.

The star and Hefner remained close friends ever since, so it is only natural that Anderson is taking his death a lot harder than most.

Earlier today, she posted a tearful video message saying goodbye to Hefner.

Orange County Told All Its Citizens The World Is Ending By Accident

I cannot begin to count the number of “apocalypses” that I have survived in the last couple of decades. It’s reasonable to say that there seems to be a new one coming down the pipe every year. Y2K came and went without incident and December 23, 2012 was a joke.

Last week Orange County, California residents received a shock when their regularly scheduled programming was interrupted by what was supposed to be a routine emergency broadcast test, this one was a little different though.

Instead of the regular tone and “this is a test” speech, they got a minute long announcement predicting the end of the world. “Realize this, extremely violent times will come,” a man’s voice boomed, according to a video of the alert.

11 Surprising Hot Flash Triggers You Didn’t Know About

One of the unfortunate realities of being a woman is that we don’t only go through painful fertility cycles every month, but we must also endure the torturous discomfort of menopause at the end of our fertile years.

One of the most dreaded aspects of menopause are hot-flashes. It starts off as a prickling of hairs on our skin and bursts into a roaring flush across our faces and ends with teaming rivers of sweat.

We know how they feel, but do you know how they are triggered? Find out below!

Why it’s a trigger: alcoholic beverages cause our blood vessels to dilate, which makes us feel warmer. When your skin flushes from the heating effect of a glass of red wine, it could trigger a full-blown hot flash.

How to fix it: Unfortunately, you might want to avoid wine – at least until you’re on the other side of menopause. Instead, try a non-alcoholic variety of fruity iced wines.

Why it’s a trigger: Just like wine, plenty of spicy foods contain vasodilators that cause our blood vessels to expand, heating us up.

How to fix it: You’ll want to avoid cayenne and chili powders as well as jalapenos, serranoes and habanero peppers. Basically, anything that tastes hot in your mouth could trigger a hot flash.

Unfortunately, some of our favorite things can trigger a hot flash…

Southwest Passenger Dragged Off Flight By Officers In Viral Video

Months after the shocking video of David Dao‘s arrest made headlines around the world, another confrontation between an airline passenger and police is attracting attention.

In a video filmed by a Southwest Airlines passenger earlier this week at the Batlimore-Washinton International Airport, officers can be seen dragging a woman out of her seat and walking her down the aisle towards the plane’s exit. The passenger is reported to be Anila Daulatzai, a 46-year-old college professor from Baltimore.

Another passenger who recorded Daulatzai’s arrest says that the strange encounter started when a pair of dogs boarded the airplane – one was a pet and one was a service animal. He says that Daulatzai complained to the flight crew that she had a life-threatening allergy to dogs.

These days it’s common to see service animals on flights.EPS Emirates

Police say that the passenger asked a flight attendant to remove the animals, and also asked for an EpiPen (which is used to treat severe allergic reactions). Instead, the flight attendant told Daulatzai she had to leave the plane.

What happened next was caught on video. While it’s shocking, an unusual rule allowed Southwest to kick the professor out of the plane…

Doctor Urges Parents To Not Let Kids Play These 6 Sports

Getting involved in sports is a great way for kids to get out of the house, stay active and forge friendships while doing something they love.

In the United States, about 36 million children under the age of 18 play organized sports every year, and while this is encouraged by experts, there are some high-impact activities that some doctors are discouraging.

Dr. Bennet Omalu, a forensic pathologist sat down for an interview with TODAY to discuss the dangers in playing certain sports.

“We need to develop more brain-friendly, healthier types of sports,” Omalu said. “We have elevated sports to the level of a religion. We’re in denial of the truth.”

Omalu warns parents that kids who play one of the “big six” sports are more likely to suffer health complications later in life.

So which sports should kids avoid playing?
