Dietitian Says Having Pizza For Breakfast Isn’t A Bad Idea After All

Gather round everyone, we have good news!

Dietitian and blogger Chelsey Amer has made all of our wildest dreams come true. In a new interview with the Chicago Tribune, she argues that it's actually healthier to start your day with a slice of pizza than a bowl of breakfast cereal.

Pizza Hut

We don't need to be convinced, but if you're feeling confused, let Amer explain.

"You may be surprised to find out that an average slice of pizza and a bowl of cereal with whole milk contain nearly the same amount of calories,” she told the paper.

“However, pizza packs a much larger protein punch, which will keep you full and boost satiety throughout the morning.”

When you also consider that your average bowl of cereal contains much more sugar than a slice of pepperoni and cheese, the choice becomes obvious.

Livestrong

Amer says the swap could even help you avoid the mid-morning "sugar crash" that comes after enjoying your cereal bowl.

If you're not ready to make the jump to a morning meat lover's just yet, Amer has more advice to help you eat smarter in the morning.

Actor Confirms Mel Gibson’s ‘Passion Of The Christ’ Sequel Is Finally Being Made

More than 14 years after the original film proved to be a box office smash, it looks like Mel Gibson is finally ready to make a sequel to The Passion of the Christ.

Made for just $30 million and with no big Hollywood stars in leading roles, Gibson's film took the world by storm in 2004. It earned over $611 million worldwide, making it the highest-grossing R-rated film in North America at the time.

Icon Productions

To this day, the movie is still the highest-grossing non-English language film ever made.

Audiences and church groups packed into theaters to watch Gibson's take on the final 12 hours before Jesus's crucifixion. Now, it seems like Gibson is ready to pick up where he left off.

Last year,  the actor and director hinted that he was " trying to craft" the story of Jesus's resurrection "in a way that’s cinematically compelling and enlightening," but he also admitted the process seemed "never-ending."

Now, the original film's star, Jim Caviezel, says the project is moving ahead. And he's shared new details about what fans should expect from The Passion of the Christ: Resurrection.

The “Mystery Boy” Who Sat Beside Melania Trump Has An Inspiring Story

Viewers who tuned in to President Trump's State of the Union speech did a double take when the camera turned to First Lady Melania Trump.

Some people thought the youngest member of the First Family, Barron Trump, was sporting a new haircut. Then, there was confusion as viewers realized the "mystery boy" sitting beside Melania wasn't Barron at all.

AP

So who was he, and why was he sitting beside the First Lady?

It turns out 12-year-old Preston Sharp was a guest of honor at the speech, and he earned a standing ovation when Trump mentioned the young boy's accomplishments.

April Sharp

Though he's not even 13 years old, Sharp has started a national movement that pays tribute to America's veterans.

It began with a trip to a local military cemetery with his grandfather when Sharp was just nine. The young boy complained that the tombstones didn't have any American flags or flowers on them.

USA Today

Sharp's mother April told him, “You can’t complain about something unless you try to do something about it,” and he took her words to heart.

Now, three years later, Sharp's "Flags and Flowers Challenge" earned him a trip to the White House.

5 Essential Things Every Pet Owner Needs To Give Their Best Furr-iends A Perfect Life

Owning a pet is basically the highlight of anyone's life. They bring so much joy and happiness to any household, and they really don't ask for much in return. They just need your love, a few belly rubs, and some tasty kibbles.

Even though they don't really need much, it doesn't mean we shouldn't spoil them. Every single dog and cat is a very good dog and cat, and they deserve a special treat for being so wonderful. They just want to spend time with you, and these amazing products can help you get the quality time with your pet that they deserve. Trust us, it's what they really want.

Walks are probably the biggest highlight of a dog's day. They spend a bunch of time in the house, waiting for you to come home that the moment you get them outside they can't wait to explore the whole town. The problem is that eventually it gets dark. It's hard for the cars to see your best friend.

It can be really dangerous to walk out at night, even when you're on the sidewalk, because if your dog happens to get off leash and runs out into traffic, cars may not see them until it's too late. If you want to keep them safe while also helping them look a lot more stylish, an LED collar is the way to go.

There are so many kinds of collars that will help your pooch make a statement, but honestly, it's one of the smartest buys you will ever make for your dog and you'll be happy you did it.

These types of leashes are great for dogs who pull because they help you use your entire body weight to control them as opposed to just your arm. It's perfect for the person who wants to get a run in with their ultimate workout buddy.

It doesn't just have to be for workouts though, stronger dogs do great with these types of leashes because it forces them to stay with you. The elastic leash is great because it'll help prevent your dog from pulling so hard it chokes them, but you'll still maintain enough control so that they don't accidentally hurt themselves.

Those aren't the only things your pet is begging you for...

After They Locked Lips On The Red Carpet, What Happened to Angelina Jolie’s Brother?

After becoming a media sensation in 2000, James Haven, older brother of Angelina Jolie, has seemingly disappeared.

Jolie's brother become famous when he accompanied her to the 2000 Academy Awards, where she was up for an Oscar.

Jolie won the award for Best Supporting Actress for her work in Girl, Interrupted, but it wasn't the achievement that made headlines that night. Her affection for her brother actually started to raise questions about their relationship.

While accepting the Oscar, Jolie declared that she was "so in love" with Haven. At another point that night, the brother and sister locked lips, which sparked rumors that the two were actually dating.

[embedded content]

It was the first Academy Award nomination for the iconic actress and she was clearly overwhelmed with the whole situation.

“I’m — I’m in shock. And I’m just so in love with my brother right now. He just held me and said he loved me and I know he’s so happy for me," she said in her acceptance speech.

Both Jolie and Haven have downplayed their notorious kiss over the years.

"First, we're the best of friends. And it wasn't some odd open-mouthed kiss. It was disappointing that something so beautiful and pure could be turned into a circus," Jolie told People magazine in 2004.

That sentiment was echoed by her brother.

"I did not give Angie a French kiss; it was something simple and lovely," Haven clarified to the Daily Mail in 2007. "She was about to go off to Mexico to finish filming Original Sin (2001) with Antonio Banderas. I congratulated her on the Oscar win and gave her a quick kiss on the lips. It was snapped and became a big thing round the world."

There was more to the story though.

Garth Brooks’s Daughter Is Following In Her Father’s Footseps

Allie Brooks, the daughter of country superstar, Garth Brooks, has definitely inherited her father's singing genes.

The 21-year-old is set to graduate from Nashville's Belmont University in May, where she has been pursing a degree in songwriting, supported by knowledge of copyright law, demo production and music publishing.

“I have been watching, listening and learning as much as possible, just trying to be like a sponge and soak it all in,” Allie said. “It has been such a blessing to meet so many great people and play so many outstanding venues.”

Garth Brooks married his college sweetheart Sandy Mahl in May 1986. Together they had four daughters, Taylor Mayne Pearl Brooks born in July 1992, August Anna Brooks born in May 1994, and Allie Colleen Brooks born in July 1996.

The couple later separated in March of 1999, and their divorce became final in 2001.

For the country singer, his children have always been his top priority. He even temporarily retired from the music industry in 2000 to focus on his family. He said he wouldn't be returning to country music until after his youngest daughter graduated from high school. When Allie graduated from high school in 2014, he made his triumphant return to the stage.

During his time away from the spotlight, Garth married fellow country music star, Trisha Yearwood in December 2005. After Allie graduated, Garth and Trisha sold their home in Owasso, Oklahoma and relocated to Tennessee.

Now that Allie is set to graduate from University, things are about to change for her yet again.

Go Visit Your Mom, It’ll Make Her Live Longer

Has your mom ever told you it "kills her" that you don't visit as much as she wants? Well, she could be right.

For me, visiting my mom is not a nuisance, she's one of my best friends and the advice I get from her is second to none. But I also understand that some people find it hard to spend prolonged periods of time with their loved ones.

Me and my wonderful mom!Writer

However, a new study indicates that even if you don't love going to see your mom, it might be worth it to suck it up so she lives longer!

It's already been documented that a relationship between grandparents and grandkids is healthier for everyone.

"We found that an emotionally close grandparent-adult grandchild relationship was associated with fewer symptoms of depression for both generations," said Sara M. Moorman, an assistant professor in the Department of Sociology and the Institute on Aging at Boston College. "The greater emotional support grandparents and adult grandchildren received from one another, the better their psychological health."

It also benefits the grandparents as well! The study found that grandparents who gave (and received) tangible support like rides to the store, help with chores, or money when things get tight, experienced fewer symptoms of depression over time.

"Studies have shown [loneliness is associated] with higher blood pressure, with nursing home admissions, with risky health behaviors like inactivity and smoking, and with dementia," research from the New York Times states.

But what does this new study say about spending time with your mom?

Member Of The Duggar Family Wants To Adopt The ‘House of Horror’ Kids

Even in the midst of a tragedy, there are still people who open their hearts to those who have been traumatized and lost everything.

The children of David and Louise Turpin who were rescued from California's 'House of Horrors' faced terrible abuse from their parents, as they were found starving and chained to their beds.

The 13 siblings, aged between two and 29-years-old, were only saved when one of them escaped to tell the police of their brutal conditions. Police raided the house and brought them to the hospital where they have been recovering since.

The parents are currently facing serious jail time for torturing their offspring, and it seems like they will never have another chance to harm their children.

However, the future of the rescued siblings doesn't look too bright. Social services plans to place six of the underage children in separate foster care homes, and the remaining adults are being sent to an assisted-living facility.

To prevent the family from breaking up further, one member of the Duggar family has offered to adopt not a few, but all of the 13 brothers and sisters in order to keep them together.

They would find a better life, because she also has experience surviving an abusive household.

Police Issue Warning About Scary New License Plate Scam

Do you own a car? If yes, do you have your license plate number memorized?

Most drivers know this number by heart, some can even correctly recite their registration number and their odometer's exact reading, but not everyone can say the same.

Road Traffic Signs

Now, police are encouraging motorists to memorize the digits on their vehicle's plate because it could help them easily get out of a potentially dangerous situation.

Fishers Police Department in Indiana issued a warning in a Facebook post about a scam that every driver, whether they're located in Indiana or not, should be aware of.

They recounted an incident that occurred recently involving two men who attempted to get a female driver to pull using an arguably clever tactic.

Kate Middleton Pays Subtle Tribute To Princess Diana During Royal Tour

Diana may have passed away over twenty years ago, but her sons, Princes William and Harry, and their significant others have been trying their best to keep her memory alive.

Hello Magazine

The brothers have both candidly spoken about how much they miss having their mother, who died in a car crash in Paris in 1997, around. It's especially hard when they're celebrating major milestones, like getting engagements, weddings, and starting a family.

Prince Harry opened up Diana's absence on a number of occasions, and more recently, he talked about it during his first televised interview with his new fiance Meghan Markle.

"It is days like - days like today when - when I really miss having her around and miss being able to share the happy news. But you know with the ring and with everything else that's going on I'm sure she's with us...yeah."

Evening Standard

Harry made sure that Diana was part of he and Meghan's "crazy journey" by including diamonds from his mother's jewelry collection in the engagement ring.

"I think everything about Harry's thoughtfulness is - and the inclusion of that and obviously not being able to meet his mom it's so important to me to - to know that she's a part of this with us," Meghan said.

William also previously revealed how much it hurts him to not have his mother beside him while his children are growing up.

"I would like to have had her advice," Prince William, who was only 15 when he lost his mother, told GQ. "I would love her to have met Catherine and to have seen the children grow up. It makes me sad that she won't, that they will never know her."

PopSugar

When the royal couple got engaged back in 2010, William proposed with his mother's 18-carat sapphire ring. Kate has since continued the tradition of honoring Diana every chance she gets.

More recently, she paid a subtle but sweet tribute to her late mother-in-law during her and William's royal tour of Sweden.

Michelle Obama Finally Reveals What Was In The Gift Box She Gave Melania Trump

Former first lady Michelle Obama recently appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show for her first television interview since her husband's presidency ended in 2016.

Michelle opened up about a number of things that have occurred since she left the White House, including the awkward gift exchange moment she shared with Melania Trump on the morning of President Donald Trump's 2017 swear-in ceremony.

Refinery29

In case you forgot, during the event, Melania presented the outgoing first lady with a Tiffany & Co. box. Although the gesture was nice, it was unexpected, considering how structured the event was, so the moments that followed were very awkward.

“You brought a gift!” the first lady said to Melania at the time. "I’ll take care of the protocol here,” chimed in former President Barack Obama.

As everyone else was preparing for a group photo, Michelle had no idea what to do with the box, and her reaction quickly got turned into one of most memorable memes of that year.

Now, Michelle, 54, has finally revealed what really going through her mind at the time and what was inside the box.

It’s Important That Couples Spend “Alone Time” Apart And Learn To Enjoy It

It takes a lot of work to be in a "perfect" relationship. There is no instruction manual, and it's an ever evolving situation.

When the relationship is fresh and new, it feels like you can never get enough of each other, and that every waking moment you spend apart is a waste of time. Once the relationship has grown into something more permanent, you begin to fall into a routine, but things are still new enough that problems that start rising up are easily dealt with.

iBelieve

But after several years of being together, things can begin to grow stale, and resentment can build up, especially if the two of you have kids. Going through the same things, day in, day out, without any variety or enjoyment has the possible side-effect of turning life into a re-run that you are being forced to endure time and again.

Relationship Counseling Center of Long Beach

One thing that is important to know is that couples need to spend time apart doing things that are important to them. Just because you become a couple doesn't mean you stop being individuals.

These are a couple of things that you need to remember about spending time alone:

The Time My Mom Literally Bailed Me Out Of Hell

I moved in with my mom was I was 16 years old. Up to that point I had only spent time with her during summer breaks from school. It was definitly a learning experience for me, because, at my dad's house, it had been a very standard life dynamic. Work and school during the day, homework, extra-curricular activities, dinner and bedtime in the evening. My dad was always home for those.

At my mom's house, she had to work two jobs in order to put food on the table for me and her, and she was gone a lot, especially at night. It gave me a lot of freedom to do what I wanted, and for the first year I was able to manage my life like a responsible teenager. But when I was 17, I was badly injured playing basketball, and my entire life changed forever.

fortmcmurraytoday.com

After the injury, my life spiraled completely out of control, and I fell into drugs, drug dealing, and eventually found myself joining a gang. I won't get into the details of what happened during the next eight years, but suffice it to say, I wound up in a maximum security jail cell, awaiting a potential lengthy prison sentence.

The district attorney didn't want me to be released on bail, and before they would even consider it, they needed someone to step in to guarentee my bail, and put up a $40,000 bond.

I found myself in a position where I had to make a choice: I could either attempt to make some changes in my life, or I could keep doing the stupid crap that I was doing, and end up costing my mom $40,000 that she didn't have. And trust me, my mom wasn't messing around. If I screwed up even a little bit, my mom wouldn't hesitate to throw me back to the wolves.

Dealing With A Step Parent When Neither Of You Like Each Other

In the age where blended families are more common than they have ever been, a huge number of kids are growing up with step-parents ingrained in their lives. And this can go one of a few ways:

1. The relationship can be impartial with the step-parent and step-child(ren) giving each other enough space to go about their daily lives without much thought for each other.

2. The step-parent and step-child(ren) can build a strong bond together, growing to love and appreciate each other.

3. There is nothing but anger and contempt between both parties, and the relationship sours. The step-parent ends up looking down upon the step-child(ren) and vice versa.

Everyday Kings

We would like to think that options one and two are the most common scenarios, and most of the time those relationships can be, or at least they can grow to be that way. But the reality is, there are situations where a step-parent can be cruel, mean, and vindictive towards children who are not of their blood.

I grew up with a step-parent, and she was not what I would call the ideal situation. In fact, I grew up resenting every moment she spend as my "parent." I wasn't a perfect child, but I felt as if she went out of her way to make my life miserable. It didn't help that she had a child who was the same age as me, which made things more complicated.

I didn't trust her, and she was smart enough to not really engage with me when my dad was around. When you are just a young kid, adults aren't really adept at believing children when their word is against another adult's. Every time I tried to speak to my dad about what was really going on, he would dismiss it as the ramblings of an angry, young kid.

minutehack.com

It went on that way for many years, until I decided that I had had enough, and I picked up and left town to move in with my mother when I was 16. It wasn't until I had actually been gone for a few years that my dad started to realize that I had actually been telling at least a version of the truth all those years ago.
