Our microwaves get used almost every day, but how much do we really know about how they work? Sure, I can microwave a bag of popcorn every single day, but if you asked me how to stop it from beeping loudly when I was trying to make my midnight snacks, I would never be able to tell you how to do it.
Well, it turns out that there are ways to make all your microwave work better for you, and it’s not that hard at all. Here are some of the best hacks for the microwave that will help make every day so much better.
If you microwave your garlic for 20 seconds before you try to peel it, the skin will slide right off without getting stuck.
If you put a bowl of warm water with white vinegar mixed into it, and then turn your microwave on for three to four minutes, you will then be able to easily wipe down all of those splatter marks that have been crusted onto the side for weeks.
You just need to put your milk in a jar and shake it up. Use as much milk as you normally would in your coffee, and then screw on the lid. Shake it up for 30-60 seconds until you can see the milk has doubled in volume. Microwave for 30 seconds and then open it up. The foam will rise to the top so you can pour it right into your coffee or just spoon the foam on top.
If you are growing a garden anyways, you may as well grow your own fresh herbs! But when you want to use dried herbs in a recipe, all you have to do is microwave them in a bowl for two to three minutes, and then you’ll be able to grind them up and store them for longer periods of time.
