TV host Ellen DeGeneres has been having the best week ever celebrating her 60th birthday, which was on January 26.
Her fellow celebrities, including Jennifer Aniston, who was the first-ever guest on The Ellen Show 15 years ago, have been trying to make this milestone extra special by appearing on the show and going down memory lane with her.
“You get me in a part of my funny button like nobody else … and my heart” Aniston said. “You are extraordinarily beloved.”
Viral sensations Sophia Grace and Rosie, who had a segment on the show, echoed Aniston’s sentiments in a touching video message for the woman of the hour.
However, none of them could top what Ellen’s wife, Portia de Rossi, did for her during a recent appearance on her show.
Portia surprised her partner the “best” birthday present, and it was so incredibly special that it moved the comedian to tears.
It’s been nearly 11 years since Madeleine McCann went missing, but her family isn’t giving up hope she’ll one day come home.
That includes Madeleine’s younger twin siblings Sean and Amelie, who are using their 13th birthday wish to ask for their sister to return.
Madeleine was only three years old when she disappeared from the family’s holiday apartment in Praia da Luz, Portugal in May 2007. She was allegedly kidnapped while her parents, Kate and Gary, were out to dinner with friends.
Despite Madeleine’s disappearance being dubbed “the most heavily reported missing-person case in modern history,” investigations have proven to be fruitless, as there have been no traces of the missing girl.
Despite the family’s sorrow, their lives are still moving on.
It’s hard to believe that it’s been nearly seven years since Ellen DeGeneres invited the tutu-wearing duo, Sophia Grace Brownlee and Rosie McClelland, to recreate their viral cover of the Nicki Minaj song “Super Bass.”
The girls were just eight and five years old at the time, but they proved that they were destined for stardom. They won Ellen and America’s hearts and went on to make regular appearances on the show.
The adorable pint-sized cousins interviewed celebrities at red carpet events on behalf of The Ellen Show, guest starred on shows such as Sam & Cat, published a children’s book titled “Tea Time With Sophia Grace and Rosie,”and even starred in their very own movie called Sophia Grace and Rosie’s Royal Adventure.
They also inspired the toy company JustPlay to create singing dolls modeled after them.
Sophia Grace and Rosie eventually parted ways with Ellen so they could focus on other projects, but despite their success, the girls never forgot their roots.
Celine Dion may be one of the best vocalists of our generation and among the world’s best-selling artists, but none of that are as important to her as her family.
The mom of three has repeatedly gushed about her brood, and made it clear that they are her greatest achievement.
Dion and her late husband, René Angélil, met in 1980, when she was just 12-years-old and he was 38. He became the Canadian-born starlet’s manager soon after their initial encounter. Seven years later, the pair’s relationship took a personal turn when they started dating.
Celine admitted that at the time she knew how much controversy their age difference would stir up, so they “king of kept it cool” to avoid ruining her career.
“I was living that love secretly,” she explained to People. Then, “when I was at the age to be able to say to people,” she says, “It was like bang! love! Love always wins.”
The couple became engaged in 1991, and made their union official when they tied the knot on December 17, 1994.
The lovebirds were working hard at advancing Dion’s career, so they appeared to not have been ready to start a family for a while. However, in May 2000, it was revealed that Dion had trouble conceiving and had to undergo two small operations at a fertility clinic to help the process.
She eventually opted for in-vitro fertilization, and the couple welcomed their firstborn son, Rene-Charles, on January 25, 2001.
Over the years, Rene-Charles has been spotted alongside his mom at events and on magazine covers, but the young boy remained largely out of the spotlight for most of his childhood.
Back in 2007, he was photographed with his mom in front of Sleeping Beauty’s castle at Disneyland. Rene-Charles was just seven years old at the time, and still had his long flowy locks.
Nowadays, he looks all grown up and just recently celebrated his 17th birthday. Dion took to Instagram to share a sweet photo and message commemorating the special day.
When you’re the head of one of the most powerful royal families in the world, you can do anything you please, including celebrating your birthday twice.
Queen Elizabeth II, who was born on April 12, 1926, celebrates her birthday two times a year, and as pompous as that may sound, there’s a very good reason behind it.
For hundreds of years, it’s been a tradition of the British royal family to celebrate the birthday of the reigning monarch on two separate occasions – the day they were actually born and a day for the public to enjoy.
The public celebration often includes artillery gun salutes (a 41-gun salute in Hyde Park, a 21-gun salute in Windsor Great Park, and a 62-gun salute at the Tower of London), and other celebratory activities, such as a military parade known as Trooping the Color. The entire family then gathers on the balcony of the Buckingham Palace where they watch a military fly-past.
The tradition is believed to have been started by King George II in 1748, but not many people know why.
I’m not quite sure how old I thought Ellen was, but I definitely did not think she was 60 years old.
Ellen tweeted on Saturday, “I can’t believe I’m going to be 60 this week! I love rating your babies but this week I want to rate the 60 year olds in your life. #EllenRateMy60YearOld.” Ellen will be celebrating her birthday this Friday (January 26th) and people are losing their minds.
Not that 60-year-olds look incredibly elderly, but Ellen DeGeneres looks like she hasn’t aged in 20 years. Maybe it’s because she still has such a youthful attitude, that we forget that she’s not just a super successful 30-year-old, or something.
It’s not just us, the whole internet is flabbergasted by this announcement, and some hilarious tweets have come from the news.
It’s always a joyous occasion when a new baby is born into the world, especially when their birthday lands on another significant event.
So, it’s no surprise a family is over the moon when it’s newest addition was one of the first babies born in the New Year – sharing the special date with her grandmother.
Josh and Michelle Verhaeghe, of Regina, Canada, welcomed Ephina Maria Jean Verhaeghe into the world at 2:59 a.m. CST. Weighing exactly 7 lbs, she is the first grandchild for both sides of the family. Coincidently, Ephina also shares her birthday with her grandmother, Angela Antonio.
Following the birth, Michelle couldn’t wait to share the news with her mother.
The world’s oldest man has celebrated his 113th birthday by sharing his secret to living a long life.
Francisco Nunez Olivera was born on December 13, 1904 in the village of Bienvenida in Badajoz, western Spain, where he has lived all his life.
He began his milestone day with his traditional piece of sponge cake and a glass of milk before opening birthday letters from across the world.
Affectionately known as Marchena to his family and friends, Olivera is in good health and is taken care of by his 82-year-old daughter Maria Antonia, the Metro reports.
She said her father is in “good health” and doesn’t suffer from any aches, pains or illnesses that often plague seniors.
“Some days he talks all day and others he sleeps all day,” she said.
In total, Olivera has four children, nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He has two sisters aged 97 and 93, and became the world’s oldest man following the death of Polish-born Israeli Yisrael Kristal this past August.
When discussing his longevity, he said there’s only two things that have kept alive for all these years.
Sir Mick Jagger’s youngest son Deveraux Octavian just celebrated his first birthday and you can’t help but do a double take with the youngest Jagger child.
The Rolling Stone singer’s former lover shared the most adorable picture of young Devi on her Instagram, leaving us no doubt who his father is.
Hamrick a ballerina with the American Ballet Theater, dated Jagger in 2014 shortly after the death of his partner of 13 years, L’Wren Scott.
The couple never married, but two years later welcomed a baby boy
The dancer, who is 43 years younger than her rockstar boyfriend at the time opened up about their relationship in June 2017.
“I definitely don’t think of myself as a ‘baby mama’. Yes, in the technical sense, I’m not married to the father of my child. But I am in a great, wonderful relationship with him,” said Hamrick, according to Mail Online.
She added, “I dance with one of the most well-known ballet companies in the world. To be put in that category is a little insulting. And it’s insulting to my boyfriend.”
By October however, Jagger seemed to be linked to film producer Noor Alfallah, who is 52 years younger then the Rolling Stone singer.
“They are both single and seemed to have a lot of fun together, so everyone just let them get on with it,” a source said.
Melanie and Mick’s time together is captured in the eyes of a beautiful little boy and we can’t help but see his father in him.
A Texas teen has been dealing with the loss of his father for as long as he can remember. Justin Rozier was only 9 months old when his father, Army Lt. Jonathan Rozier, died while serving in Iraq. It was 2003 when his father passed away, but his influence remains present to this day.
His mother obviously had to find some way to make enough money to support her family, so she ended up selling her husband’s 1999 Toyota Celica because she couldn’t afford it. That was back in 2003, but now she had an idea that would maybe help her son handle his father’s absence a little better.
While cleaning her house she came across the registration for the old car, and had a genius idea to surprise her son. He was turning 16 soon, and to help him celebrate the milestone birthday she wanted to try and find the car.
She posted the information on Facebook so that she could find the exact vehicle that her husband had driven. She hoped that her friends and family could help her track it down and boy, did they deliver!
From his big screen debut in 1946, to his most recent role in 2008, the one and only Kirk Douglas has proven himself to be a true movie star.
He made a name for himself by appearing in Hollywood blockbusters like Spartacus, and started a family acting dynasty, but how much do you actually know about Douglas and his decades-long career?
Here are 13 facts about his life that prove he’s Hollywood royalty:
1. He’s a living rags-to-riches story
Douglas’ parents were dirt poor Russian immigrants. His father supported his seven children by hawking rags and scrap metal, and Kirk had to sell snacks and do odd jobs to support the family.
The actor’s birth name was “Izzy Danielovitch,” and he says he regrets changing it for his job. “It’s more interesting to keep your original name. But can you imagine that name on a marquee?”
2. He smooth talked his way into college
It would be tough for a rag seller to afford his son’s tuition, so instead Douglas took matters into his own hands. He walked into the dean’s office at St. Lawrence University and walked out with a loan for his education.
During his studies, Douglas paid back the loan by working as a janitor at the school. Douglas also spent time in the Navy before he was discharged for injuries he suffered in World War 2.
3. He was a pro wrestler
Before his film career took off, Douglas paid the bills by wrestling tourists at local fairs. “I was the guy who was a plant, the mark, and I’d wrestle people in the audience.”
4. He knew he wanted to be an actor since kindergarten
Douglas was invited in front of his class to read the poem “The Red Robin of Spring,” and says the experience made him a performer for life. “Something happened when I heard applause,” he later explained. “I loved it. I still do.”
5. It seems like he was cursed to never win an Oscar
While he starred in loads of great movies, and was nominated three times, Douglas never took home an Academy Award. He even passed on two roles in Cat Ballou and Stalag 17 that won Oscars for Lee Marvin and William Holden.
Finally, Douglas was given an honorary award in 1996, and gave a very emotional speech. It was the actor’s first major public appearance since he suffered a stroke.
6. His wife Anne saved his life
Douglas famously survived a helicopter crash, but he also nearly died in plane crash. In 1958, producer Michael Todd invited Douglas to fly to New York on his private plane. The actor’s wife Anne had a bad feeling, and begged him not to get on the flight.
While driving to his destination instead, Douglas turned on the radio and heard the news that Todd’s plane had crashed, killing him.
7. His Walk of Fame star was stolen
Bear in mind that the stars in the Hollywood Walk of Fame weigh about 300 pounds, so it’s not like you can just pick one up and walk away. Only four stars have ever been stolen from the tourist attraction: James Stewart’s, Gene Autry’s, Gregory Peck’s, and Kirk Douglas’.
The star was later found in a construction worker’s home and returned to its rightful place.

These days parents are so concerned about every little thing that even going to a birthday party becomes a three-ring circus.
Bring a snack, but make sure it’s nut-free. Don’t bother buying gifts, because we’ve packed everyone a gift bag so nobody feels left out. Things seem normal when the birthday boy’s parents bring out a cake, but then they don’t put in any birthday candles. What gives?
It turns out more and more parents are skipping this tradition out of concern that it will make their kids sick. The assumption is that blowing out the candles spread germs all over the cake, and that’s not entirely wrong.
Earlier this year, the Journal of Food Research published a paper reporting that blowing out candles on a birthday cake increases the amount of bacteria on the frosting by 1,400 percent.
To avoid exposing their little darlings to germs, parents have been keeping candles off their cakes, or making individual birthday cupcakes instead. Inventor Michael Tropeano has has even created a sanitary cake and candle cover to keep germs off the baked goods.
But doctors warn you should take the study with a grain of salt, and have their own suggestions for keeping kids safe from germs at birthday parties.
Saying goodbye to someone you love is very difficult, especially someone as important as your own father.
Bailey Sellers was just 16 when her father died, after a six month battle with pancreatic cancer. Before he passed away, the two became very close. “I became home-schooled so that I could help my mom out,” Bailey explained, “because he couldn’t work anymore.”
But while Michael Sellers was preparing for the end his life, he was thinking about Bailey’s future.
The result of his plans arrived at the Sellers family home just a few months after Michael died, on Bailey’s 17th birthday. A bouquet of flowers was left on the doorstep, with a note that read “I loved you first…happy 17th! Love, Dad.”
Michael’s wife Kristy says he shared the plan with her a month before he died, explaining that he had purchased a bouquet of flowers for Bailey’s next five birthdays, and left a special note with each one.
This year, Bailey received her final bouquet, and after sharing her story – and her dad’s touching final message – it’s gone viral.
Connor Eppard’s birthday is July 1. Last year, Connor and his wife, Jordyn, found out that their son would be born sometime around July 17, 2017. On June 30, the couple went in for Jordyn’s final ultrasound and wellness checkup. They had just moved into their new house the day before and they were looking forward to finishing preparing for the birth of their new bundle of joy.
“We just bought a house and moved in on the 29th, two days before, and I assume that probably had some stress levels that might have induced that a little bit,” Connor Eppard told ABC News.
What they didn’t expect when they went in for the ultrasound, is being sent to the hospital because Jordyn was in early labor. Notice the change of date; she was now in labor on June 30th, the day before her husband’s birthday. And it happened, on July 1, 2017, their little boy entered the world.
Connor called his grandfather to tell him the good news, that’s when everything got crazy strange.
Move aside princesses and superheros, discount super centers have won the title of best birthday party theme.
In apost from Facebook page, Love What Matters, Emily Masico said her three-year-old daughter, Charlie, asked for a Target-themed birthday party.
“Right off the bat she said, ‘Target.’ I laughed and was like, ‘No, that’s not a party, why not Trolls?’ So, the more time went on I was like: ‘You know what? It’s different…Let’s do it!'” Masico said.
On your birthday, you want it to be special. Maybe spending time with family, going out for dinner, or blowing out candles on a birthday cake. And as you get older, the list of fun activities you can commit to on your name-day seems to grow shorter. But apparently, it doesn’t have to!
Some people out there want to prove that age is simply a number, and that just because you look fragile it doesn’t mean you can’t have a thrill of your own. So in that spirit, here’s a few old souls that have decided to put their seniors discount to good use!
There was that woman who asked if bungee jumping had an age limit
When Margit Tall told bungee jump organizers she was born in 1919, they thought she was joking. But all the same she wanted to take the plunge, and so jumped nearly 500 ft at 95 years of age. Way to go Margit!
Or this 77 year old kite surfer who’s actually really good
David Cummings believes that this sport is more than a way to stay fit, as it helps him reflect on the long life that he has led and centers him to embrace what lies ahead. And there’s no denying that he has fun doing it!
But Eila Campbell thought that she should go one step further in this video she posted for her birthday!
