Get Ready McDonald’s Lovers The Big Mac Is Getting Bigger… And Smaller

That’s right, McDonald’s has just announced that their menu will be changing in a number of locations. This means we get bigger Big Macs, and also smaller Big Macs for the smaller eaters. But don’t worry the original Big Mac will still be available too.

These new Macs will be called the the Grand Mac, and the Mac Jr. The Grand Mac is a regular Big Mac but bigger. It will feature two one-sixth-pound patties, two cheese slices and a bigger bun. The Mac Jr. will be a one layer version of the Big Mac, so basically a normal one patty burger but with all the amazing things a Big Mac has to offer.

McDonald’s has decided to make this change because they have finally realized that everyone has different appetites. It was about time they did this. Stores like Wendy’s and Five Guys Burgers and Fries have had larger and smaller sizes of their most popular burgers for as far back as we can remember.

But this change seems as it has been coming do to McDonald’s huge changes these past few years.

Nutritionist Says You Should Always Order Two Burgers At McDonald’s

If you have a craving for a Big Mac, you may want to double that order according to a dietitian.

While McDonald’s may be a rare ‘treat’ for some, you can balance your diet a bit better when going through the drive-thru of the Golden Arches.

Most of us can agree that McDonald’s food doesn’t taste as good as it used to when we were kids- especially their fries.

McDonald’s reportedly stopped using beef tallow to cook their fries in the 1990s. The switch from beef fat to vegetable oil changed the way the fries tasted, and they haven’t been the same since.

The switch was made after fears over cholesterol fats rose from health practitioners.

While the average order at McDonald’s consists of a Big Mac, chocolate shake and large fries, a nutritionist advised that you’re better off to double down on the burgers.

  • 1 box macaroni and cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • ¼ cup half and half
  • ½ cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 jalapeno, finely diced
  • 1 ½ cups flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne
  • 2 egg, beaten
  • 3 cups jalapeno flavored kettle chips, finely crushed
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 6 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 6 slices bacon, chopped
  • ½ cup pickled jalapeno, chopped
  1. Prepare a rectangular baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a large pot, boil macaroni noodles from the box, stirring occasionally until al dente, about 7-8 minutes.
  3. After draining pasta, place it back into the pot and add in the butter, powder mix from the box, cream, and shredded cheese, then mix until well-combined.
  4. Pour mac and cheese mixture evenly into prepared baking dish, spreading evenly and pressing until about ½-inch thick. Place in the freezer at least 30 minutes up to overnight.
  5. Once mixture is frozen, use cookie cutter to cut out your buns! (I got 6)
  6. Mix together the flour, salt, pepper, and cayenne in a small shallow dish. Pour the beaten eggs into another shallow dish. In another shallow dish, pour in the crushed jalapeno chips.
  7. Carefully dredge your “buns” first in flour, shake off excess, then place in egg, make sure it’s fully covered. Lastly place in chips until well-coated.
  8. Fry in oil until golden and crispy, place on paper towel lined plate, then keep warm in the oven while assembling the burger patties.
  9. To make the burgers, in a medium bowl, mix the cream cheese, bacon, and pickled jalapeno until well-combined.
  10. Split the ground beef into 3 portions, then split those in half to begin assembling. For each patty, flatten a half, then spoon on some of the cream cheese mixture, then top with the other half of the patty, sealing up the sides so none of the cream cheese mixture can come out. Repeat until all 3 patties are done.
  11. Heat a pan to medium, then cook burger patties until brown on one side, flip, then continue cooking until browned on the other side.
  12. To assemble, take 2 mac and cheese “buns” and place a patty in between. Enjoy!
