Derick Dillard Blames TLC For “Exploiting” His Family, Makes More Dumb Comments

Derick Dillard, married to Jill Duggar, needs a lesson or two in keeping his mouth shut. Don’t get me wrong, I think everyone has the right to their own opinion and that social media is absolutely a place to voice that opinion. But for a family that has already been fired from their television show due to controversial comments, Dillard sure seems to keep biting the hand that feeds, or rather fed, him.

Dillard and his family were fired from Counting On, the 19 Kids and Counting spin-off show, for making derogatory comments towards another one of TLC’s stars. TLC runs a show called I Am Jazz, which follows 17-year-old Jazz Jennings as she lives her life as a transgender teen, transitioning from male to female. The show has been one of TLC’s most viewed shows on the network and is doing incredible work for the LGBTQ community.

However, Dillard is not one of those people on board with the show…or Jazz Jennings at all, for that matter.

“What an oxymoron… a ‘reality’ show which follows a non-reality. ‘Transgender’ is a myth. Gender is not fluid; it’s ordained by God,” Dillard wrote on Twitter in August.

After Jennings tweeted about cyber-bullying, Dillard continued his rampage.

“I pity Jazz, 4 those who take advantage of him in order 2 promote their agenda, including the parents who allow these kinds of decisions 2 be made by a child.

It’s sad that ppl would use a juvenile this way.

Again, nothing against him, just unfortunate what’s on TV these days.”

Dillard claims he “never bullied anyone” and “just said [he] didn’t agree with what is being propagated on TV.”

TLC wasn’t buying it, however. The network almost immediately fired the family from Counting On, citing Dillard’s comments as the reason.

“We want to let our viewers know that Derick Dillard has not participated in Counting On for months and the network has no plans to feature him in the future.

We want to reiterate that Derick’s personal statements do not reflect the views of the network.

TLC is proud to share the story of Jazz Jennings and her family and will continue to do so.”

While the family stayed fairly silent on the topic, it now seems like Dillard has some choice words for the network.

Josiah Duggar Is Engaged, But The Circumstances Are Strange

Just days after Joy-Anna Duggar welcomed her first child, the Duggars have more news to announce!

Josiah, the 8th child in the Duggar succession, is engaged to his partner Lauren Swanson! The news was confirmed on the family’s website, sharing in the exciting event.

“We are so excited to announce that Josiah and Lauren are officially engaged!” reads the statement. “We have prayed for many years that the Lord would bring the right spouses to each of our children. We have known Lauren and her family for a very long time and have seen how she has grown in her knowledge and understanding of the Lord. She is a wonderful, caring, compassionate young lady, full of zeal for Christ. We are very thankful for her. We pray that their lives together will be full of joy and happiness and that God will use their lives for His service. We are looking forward to another Duggar wedding soon!”

Daily Mail

But fans were quick to point out two very strange issues surrounding the new couple’s engagement.

You Can Spend Valentine’s Day With The Duggars, For A Price

The Duggars are always in the news for one reason or another, and a lot of the time it has to do with controversial topics. Some people accuse the family of exploiting their kids to make money, especially after Josh Duggar’s molestation scandal.

Jessa, the fifth of the 19 kids, decided she wanted to give a lecture at a women’s retreat in Middletown, Ohio on “dressing modestly” about two years ago. That in itself wasn’t why people were upset (although it’s 2017 and it all seems a little ‘old fashioned.’) It came out that girls under the age of 9, and men of all ages, were completely banned from the lecture. In addition, Jessa was charging $50 per ticket, even though she’s still bringing in a ton of money from her TLC appearances.

A lot of people pointed out that Jessa was using her religion and beliefs to cash in, which is not what it should be about. If Jessa truly wanted to teach about dressing modestly, she could do it free of charge.

But it seems like Jessa came by her idea honestly, because her parents are now offering people the chance to spend Valentine’s Day with them…for a price.

Member Of The Duggar Family Wants To Adopt The ‘House of Horror’ Kids

Even in the midst of a tragedy, there are still people who open their hearts to those who have been traumatized and lost everything.

The children of David and Louise Turpin who were rescued from California’s ‘House of Horrors’ faced terrible abuse from their parents, as they were found starving and chained to their beds.

The 13 siblings, aged between two and 29-years-old, were only saved when one of them escaped to tell the police of their brutal conditions. Police raided the house and brought them to the hospital where they have been recovering since.

The parents are currently facing serious jail time for torturing their offspring, and it seems like they will never have another chance to harm their children.

However, the future of the rescued siblings doesn’t look too bright. Social services plans to place six of the underage children in separate foster care homes, and the remaining adults are being sent to an assisted-living facility.

To prevent the family from breaking up further, one member of the Duggar family has offered to adopt not a few, but all of the 13 brothers and sisters in order to keep them together.

They would find a better life, because she also has experience surviving an abusive household.

Jinger Duggar Confirms What We Already Knew

Jinger Duggar is considered the most rebellious member of the family. Since her days on 19 Kids and Counting, Jinger has noticeably strayed from the family’s normal practices.

She enjoyed photography as a hobby, which may not seem that weird, but when the rest of your family is focused on music, the Bible, and raising your siblings, it’s definitely out of the norm.

Not long after marrying Jeremy Vuolo, Jinger floored fans when she began wearing pants on the regular, a huge no-no for Duggar women. Vuolo came to his wife’s defense fairly quickly.

“Jesus does not save people to make them wear skirts. It is your liberty as to whether you dress modestly with a modest pair of pants, or with a skirt, or with a T-shirt, or with a blouse,” Vuolo said. “It is not your liberty, women, to wear sensual, seductive clothing that is designed to draw the attention of your brothers.”

Jinger was also the only Duggar who was married with no children. This was unusual, as Jill, Jessa, and Joy-Anna all announced their pregnancies within 3 months of their wedding. However an Instagram post from a few months back lead many to believe she and Vuolo were expecting their first child.

No official announcement was made, but now, the couple is making things official.

“Bringing Up Bates” Star Gets Married And The Duggars Were In Attendance

The Bates family, stars of Up TV’s Bringing Up Bates have a lot of reason to celebrate as of late. Back in October, the family announced that they would be growing by one. Erin, the third of Gil and Kelly Jo Bates’s 19 children, is expecting her third child.

The Gospel Herald

Erin and her husband, Chad Paine, told People that they will be having a baby girl, and a name has already been picked out after they came across it in a book.

“We are overjoyed to be adding baby Everly Hope to our family this April,” Erin said. “She is already loved and adored so much. Our hands are full with two little ones-the giggles, slobbery kisses, and yes, the diapers!  We know it will be quite an adventure, and we are definitely anticipating her arrival. We are grateful, so very grateful.”

Two months after Erin and Chad’s happy news, her 21-year-old sister,Tori, tied the knot with her fiancé of three months, Bobby Smith.

The couple first met through a mutual friend in 2015, but didn’t officially start their courtship until November 2016. Smith was attending college at the time, so their relationship was long-distance until he graduated and moved to Tennessee this year.

“We’ve been looking forward to this day for so long and it’s finally here — we’re engaged!” the couple told People back in September. “The day could not have been more magical, and the moments we shared will never be forgotten.”

A few months after their engagement, the conservative couple got married in Knoxville, Tennessee, and shared their first ever kiss in front of 700 of their closest family and friends, including the Duggars.

A New Duggar Grandchild Is On The Way

On average, most grandparents will have six grandchildren, which still sounds like a lot! For the Duggars, though, they already have 10 grandkids…and only four of their 19 kids have started their own families so far.

There was a lot of speculation that Jinger Duggar-Vuolo would be the next Duggar to announce her pregnancy, as she’s been married for a year already, and has been posting suspect pictures on Instagram.

However, the most recent Duggar pregnancy isn’t Jinger at all…or even one of the girls, for that matter!

How The Duggars Celebrate Christmas, With One Glaring Omission

Too often, Christmas becomes about the gifts instead of the traditions. We all get so wrapped up in the material aspects of the holiday, we forget about the religious meaning.

The Duggar family does not have this issues, however. While they often face criticism for their strict religious beliefs, their Christmas celebrations are something to be admired.

As would be expected, the Duggars focus on the religious aspects of Christmas. They hang banners around the house that says “Happy Birthday, Jesus”, “Christ Is Born!” and “Joy To The World!” They also sing Happy Birthday to Jesus on Christmas Day, which is a tradition that must be fun with so many young kids around.

Michelle Duggar also uses JOY as an acronym during the holiday season, which stands for “Jesus first, Others second, Yourself last.”

Jim Bob Duggar also gathers the family around and reads the story of Christ’s birth from the scriptures. The house is always well-decorated, with nativity scenes being spotted all over during their Christmas tour video.

There’s no Santa Claus in the Duggar household, as they don’t want to take away from the birth of Christ as the reason for the season.

Buying gifts for a family of five can be hard enough, so a family of 21+ sounds impossible. That’s why the Duggars have devised a system of gift-giving that makes things easier on everyone. At Thanksgiving dinner, the family picks names in a Secret Santa-style gift exchange. Younger siblings are matched with younger siblings, while older siblings are matched with older siblings. Jim Bob and Michelle buy gifts for each child and each other.

In addition to their special gift, each child also gets a personalized gift bag including Pringles, beef jerky, and a jar of pickles.

“Almost all of us like pickles, but each one likes a different kind,” Michelle Duggar said. “Same with the Pringles and the beef jerky. Christmas is the one time of year when every child gets their favorite flavor of each treat.”

In addition to giving each other gifts, the family also puts together care packages for those less fortunate. Each basket contains:

  • fruits
  • mugs
  • candy
  • tissues
  • Vitamin C packets
  • a Bible

They also bake for members of the community, like the fire and police departments, or anyone else who has had a “rough year.”

But amidst all their Christmas decor, two things are noticeably gone. One is not that big of a deal…but the other means there could be trouble in the family.

A Religious Recap On Why The Duggar Women Don’t Wear Pants

It’s no secret that the Duggars live by a strict set of rules. Their beliefs are always front and center, and that’s totally okay. But because they’re in the public eye, they’re subjected to a lot of criticism. Granted, when your eldest son molests your younger daughters, it deserves to be criticized.

But one of the biggest questions that surrounds the Duggars is what religion they practice, exactly. We know they practice it to the extreme, but what set of guidelines are they following?

There has been a lot of speculation that the family is a part of the controversial “Quiverful” movement, which says contraception is bad and advocates for having as many children as possible. Mochelle and Jim Bob Duggar have denied this, saying they are “”simply Bible-believing Christians who desire to follow God’s Word and apply it to our lives.”

It’s also been reported that they’re part of the Independent Funamental Baptists Church, and even as broadly recognized as “followers of the conservative patriarchal movement.” The only label the family has given themselves is “conservative Christians,” when Michelle Duggar spoke about miscarrying her second child after Josh was born. The family believes this was because of their use of birth control.

InTouch Weekly

“As conservative Christians, we believe every life is sacred, even the life of the unborn. Due to our lack of knowledge, we destroyed the precious life of our unborn child. We prayed and studied the Bible and found a host of references that told us God considered children a gift, a blessing, and a reward,” the family has explained. “Yet we had considered having another child an inconvenience during that busy time in our lives, and we had taken steps to prevent it from happening.”

While their exact religion may not be known, the family has been outspoken on their belief that women should not wear pants for modesty reasons. They have even referenced the Bible for this decision.

“Counting On” Star Fired From TV Show After Controversial Comments

TLC has just cut ties with one of the stars of its biggest shows, and it could mean the end of the Duggars’s long run on television.

The Duggars have been a staple on TLC since 2008. Their show, 19 Kids and Counting drew in millions of fans who wanted to see how a family of 21 could possibly live comfortably with so many kids around. The family lives by a strict set of rules and values, which often fall under extreme criticism from outsiders. The women aren’t allowed to wear pants, and when they do it causes an uproar.

Hollywood Gossip

More recently, Joy-Anna Duggar has been accused of having sex before marriage, as people are noticing her growing baby bump doesn’t add up with the timeline provided by the family.

Plus, of course, there was the whole Josh Duggar molestation incident, which is what got 19 Kids and Counting cancelled in the first place. But now, it’s another member of the family who is causing problems. This time, however, it’s not just fans who are outraged.

Joy-Anna Duggar Posts Picture Of Baby Bump, Sparks Controversy About Her Marriage

The Duggars are nothing if not controversial. The family rules are often criticized for being too harsh, too modest, or just plain weird.

Because of their fame, the Duggar family is also subjected to extreme criticism on social media. One time, Jessa Duggar’s son wasn’t wearing shoes in a picture and people accused her of being a bad mother.

Then, Jill and her husband were criticized for falsely advertising their qualifications during a mission trip.

But now, it’s the most recently married Duggar daughter that is facing heat for her life choices. Joy-Anna Duggar married Austin Forsyth in May 2017, just four months after they announced their engagement.

While the timing may not seem too suspect, people began to speculate. The original date of the wedding was October 28th, so why feel the need to move it up? Just three months after her wedding, Joy-Anna announced she and Austin were expecting their first child. People were thrilled, but the picture she posted did not quell any rumors at all.

Jana Duggar Is Finally Courting

Jana Duggar, the eldest Duggar daughter, has never been in a courtship. At least not one that has been made public. But some suggestive new photos on the family’s social media pages could be hinting that this has changed.

The 27-year-old has been linked to family friend Zach Bates, and more famously, NFL and MLB star Tim Tebow, but she never announced an official courtship. Jana doesn’t seem to phased about her romantic life, however.

“I don’t really know what the next five years look like,” she said. “I guess in some ways [I’ve] got hopes and dreams like, ‘Well, maybe I’ll meet the one, and get married and have kids.’ I’m not just out to get married to the first one that comes along. I mean, sometimes it can be tempting. … [Especially] in those moments where your siblings, who are married and have little ones, are going out on dates and doing their things.”

Jana Duggar is often referred to as “Cinderella” by people who follow the show, as she’s the one left to do chores and take care of the kids while everyone else lives their lives.

But it’s not like Jana has nothing going on in her life without a man. She recently purchased an old tattoo parlor for $95,000 and reports claim she’ll be opening her own business. As for what that business is, it’s unclear. But at least she’s got business aspirations and plans on supporting herself, regardless of her marital status!

Now, photos circulating on the family’s social media are hinting that Jana Duggar has finally found someone special.

Jessa Duggar Under Fire For Posting Photos Of Dirty Diapers In Her House

Josh Duggar Has Sparked Not One, But Two Lawsuits From His Own Family

In 2015, it was revealed that Josh Duggar, the eldest Duggar child, had molested five girls in 2002, when he was 14 years old. It came out that he fondled the breasts and genitals of the girls, four of whom were his sisters.

Josh released a statement regarding the situation, apologizing for his actions, but at the same time implicating his parents as well.

“Twelve years ago, as a young teenager, I acted inexcusably for which I am extremely sorry and deeply regret. I hurt others, including my family and close friends,” the father of four said. “I confessed this to my parents who took several steps to help me address the situation. We spoke with the authorities where I confessed my wrongdoing, and my parents arranged for me and those affected by my actions to receive counseling. I understood that if I continued down this wrong road that I would end up ruining my life. I would do anything to go back to those teen years and take different actions. I sought forgiveness from those I had wronged and asked Christ to forgive me and come into my life. In my life today, I am so very thankful for God’s grace, mercy and redemption.”

The information released by the Arkansas Police Department revealed that Josh molested his sisters Jill, Jessa, Jinger, and Joy-Anna. There was also a fifth girl who was not named.

“My parents … I can see looking back [that] my parents handled this very well,” Jessa told Fox News. “They sent Josh away. They had him get help. When he came back he was a totally different person. He was repentant whenever he left. When he came back, I could see he had made life changes.”

“I was angry at first, I was like, How could this happen?’ ” Jill recalled. “And then, you know, my parents explained to us what happened and then Josh came and asked each of us, individually – I know he asked me to forgive him. And I had to make that choice to forgive him, you know? It wasn’t something that somebody forced, like, ‘Oh, you need to do this.’ You have to make that decision for yourself.”

After the reports were confirmed, TLC cancelled its incredibly popular series, 19 Kids and Counting.

“After thoughtful consideration, TLC and the Duggar family have decided to not move forward with 19 Kids and Counting. The show will no longer appear on the air,” the network said in an official statement, noting that “the recent attention around the Duggars has sparked a critical and important conversation about child protection.”

But that wasn’t the end of controversy for Josh Duggar.

Vintage Photos Of Michelle Duggar Break All Of Her Modesty Rules

We know Michelle Duggar as the matriarch of the 19 Kids and Counting family. She’s been very upfront about her religious beliefs and her desire for as many kids as God will allow her. She’s very modest and raises her kids to be as well, but that wasn’t always the case.

It wasn’t until Michelle met Jim Bob that she started to fall into his strict religious ways. Though she was a Christian, she was not as devout as her now husband.

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are Independent Baptist Christians, though there have been allegations that their religion is more like a cult.

But what did she look like before the TV show, and before the religion?
