Joanna Gaines In Tears Over “Fixer Upper” Episode

Patti Baker had just relocated to Waco, Texas to be closer to her two sons when she chose a 1950s era house to be her forever home. With good bones and the right amount of space, Baker believed it just “needed a hug.”

As Fixer Upper fans know, Chip and Joanna Gaines are good at delivering hugs, and as it turned out Baker really needed it.

With nice features and plenty of promise, the plain beige exterior, dated kitchen and baths needed a face-lift.

Baker’s taste in decor is described as simple, basic and primitive, which falls well within Joanna’s wheelhouse of design.

“Patti’s key word was really “primitive.” She wanted authentic. She wanted things that looked handmade,” Joanna said.

“This is her forever home,” said Joanna. “I want to make sure that everything that I am choosing and deciding from a design standpoint is timeless and as classic as possible.”

But it wasn’t the house that got Joanna teary-eyed.

Chip and Joanna Gaines Have Already Dropped Hints About Names For The New Baby

Fixer Upper hosts surprised everyone when they dropped some major news about their family. They’re expecting a fifth baby! The new addition joins siblings, 12-year-old Drake, 11-year-old Ella Rose, 9-year-old Duke and 7-year-old Emmie Kay.

While we still don’t know if baby Gaines is a boy or girl, the expectant couple has a few suspicions of their own.

An ultrasound of the budding baby had the expectant dad making bets as to the gender for their new addition.

“Chip swears he can already tell it’s a boy. Look at the little heartbeat!! 🙌🏽❤️❤️ #5,” Joanna wrote in an Instagram post featuring a sonogram.

Considering the couple’s current birth order of, boy, girl, boy, girl, a baby boy would seem like the next in line, but this little one could always break the streak.

Whether the nursery is being prepared in a masculine nautical theme or with pink birds and owls, only time will tell.

The couple however, are pretty consistent in their name selection, so that may be less of a surprise.

What Body Language Experts Have To Say About The ‘Fixer Upper’ Couple’s PDA

Despite the vows you may have taken, it takes a lot to work alongside your significant other for any extended period of time. Now imagine how much more difficult it would be if it was all televised on national television?

That’s the sort of pressure that Fixer Upper couple Chip and Joanna Gaines are under constantly, yet they are somehow able to keep it all together. How do they do it?

A group of body language experts sat down to figure out just how this power couple stay on top of their image, and each other.

They looked at how they act with each other on the show, as well as the pictures that they publicly post on their social media.

While there was a lot of good news, they all agreed that there are some undertones of control at work between the happily married co-hosts.

‘Fixer Upper’ Contestant Reveals What They Don’t Tell You About The Hit Show

We hate to break it to you, but your favorite reality show isn’t as “real” as you think it is.

Of course, we can’t stop watching reruns of HGTV’s hit show Fixer Upper, and we’re even keeping up to date on hosts Chip and Joanna’s pregnancy news. But we’ve also discussed the controversy and lawsuit that followed one of the renovations on their show.

HGTV

Now, we’re sharing the sad news that appearing on Fixer Upper as a homeowner isn’t everything it’s cracked up to be.

Former contestants are revealing what it’s like to have Chip and Joanna fix up your house, and it turns out you need to jump through a lot of hoops just to get on the show.

First, you need to be in the market for a home in or around Waco, Texas, because Chip and Joanna don’t travel for work. Next, you have to actually buy the home before they’ll even tape the show. So any home hunting segments you see on the network are all fake, sadly.

But the most surprising fact revealed by former contestants is you have to cover the cost of your own renovations. Even though you’re on a TV show, you have to fork up at least $30,000 for Chip and Joanna to do any real fixing.

And some contestants say they end up paying much more than that.

Chip And Joanna Gaines Shamed Over Pregnancy News

Earlier this week, stars of HGTV’s Fixer Upper and husband and wife pair Chip and Joanna Gaines revealed on social media that they are expecting their fifth child.

“Gaines party of 7.. (If you’re still confused.. WE ARE PREGNANT) @joannagaines,” Chip captioned the adorable announcement posted on Instagram.

The couple have been teasing fans about the happy news in the days leading up to the announcement.

“New year, new hope… Be expectant,” Joanna wrote in the caption of an Instagram post. “There is just something about fresh faith and unwavering trust that brings life to our souls. May this be your best year yet. #2018.”

Some people were caught off guard by the baby news, but many of the couple’s fans weren’t as shocked because both Joanna and Chip have talked about the possibility of growing their family of six in the past.

“I would love another baby — or twins! The kids are always asking me, ‘Mom, can you have another baby?’ But Chip thinks we’re done,” Joanna said back in June. Later in the year, Chip admitted in another interview that he changed his mind and that he’s “really excited to go back and try to maybe…try to make some more babies.”

As we already know, the couple succeeded, but not everyone is on board the baby train. Chip and Joanna’s pregnancy announcement made its way to Facebook, and there were some awful comments among the well-wishes.

So what has people so angry over the exciting news?

7 Antiques Joanna Gains Never Passes Up At Estate Sales and Flea Markets

She’s known for being able to outfit and transform homes in her hit show Fixer Upper. Joanna Gains is able to pull off some amazing transformations, partly because she loves to go on the hunt for one-of-a-kind antiques.

On almost every episode of the HGTV show, we see her and Chip search for pieces both big and small at flea markets, auctions, and antique shops in the Texas area.

If you’re trying to get better at spotting the deals like Joanna Gaines check out this list that the home renovators put together that will help you get better at using thrifty items in your home.

Mixing up old and new pieces can really add to your home’s decor.

With “stuff that’s architectural and a little of unexpected,” Joanna says. “Anything that came out of an old house or building that’s kind of its own story. That’s the kind of stuff I’m always looking for.”

This means anything from old doors and windows to old corbels, spindles and gates will add the perfect touch to your home.

Who wants another picture from from IKEA? Find something as unique as your family when bargain hunting. Whether you want to use it in a photo gallery or something different like framing your kid’s artwork, frames are always something to look out for when shopping.

“It’s a fun play when you have your kids’ artwork paired with an antique frame,” she says.

Adding extra matting to make the kids’ abstract work look a little more polished adds a nice touch too.

Let me be honest, you can never have enough storage in your home.

“I’m always looking for storage, so anything that I can put in the living room that we can hide something under that’s also a unique piece—[like] old storage boxes and bins,” Joanna says. “And I’m always looking for something you can store toys in but that’s kind of cool and unique.”

Joanna has transformed everything from old chicken coops to nesting boxes into perfect places for kids’ toys and books.

Chris Gaines Has Shaved His Head, But It’s Not A Fashion Statement

A Fixer Upper star is sporting a bald new hairdo. It’s not for aesthetics, but rather charity.

HGTV stars Chip and Joanna Gaines have been recent fixtures in the media spotlight, from divorce allegations to the ending of their hit show.

The duo have taken advantage of their rising fame by expanding their brand with their own store, a magazine, home improvement books, and launching a clothing line in partnership with Target.

With their popularity at an all time high, the Gaines used their notoriety for a good cause.

Last week, Chris asked his fans to donate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, in exchange for him cutting his hair through #OperationHaircut. How much he trimmed his mane was dependent on the total amount raised.

“…the more money we raise over the next FOUR days, the shorter my hair goes,” he said.

True to his word, Chip cut off luscious locks, and it didn’t disappoint.

Chip And Joanna Admit There’s “Credence” To Those Divorce Rumors

America’s favorite reality TV couple have finally addressed the divorce rumors that plagued them for years.

Chip and Joanna Gaines rose to fame with their HGTV show Fixer Upper, which became an instant hit for the network and one of the most-watched shows on TV. The couple have capitalized on their success with their own store, a magazine, home improvement books, and partnerships with big name brands like Target.

But fans of the home renovation series were surprised to learn that the couple would be ending the series after season five, which premieres in November. The announcement ignited speculation that the couple were splitting up, a rumor that has popped up now and then since their show first started.

Now, in a surprising interview, Chip admits that there’s “a little credence” to those divorce rumors, and that the tension in his marriage with Joanna is part of the reason why Fixer Upper is ending. He even describes worrying that their relationship had reached “a point of no return.”

But Chip also has good news for fans…

Take Sneak Peek At Joanna Gaines’s New Target Collection

When HGTV announced that Chip and Joanna Gaines, the stars of the network’s hit show ‘Fixer Upper,’ are wrapping up the show after the fifth season, fans were understandably disappointed.

Not only did the show feature the couple’s home makeover skills, it also gave the viewers a look into their family and importance of faith in their lives.

The couple, who have been on the small screen since 2013, explained in a post that they’re going to use their freed up time to “shore up and strengthen the spots that are weak, rest the places that are tired, and give lots of love and attention to both of our family and our businesses.”

“We need to catch our breath for a moment,” they added.

The businesses mentioned include their new bed and breakfast, Magnolia House, as well as Joanna’s new home decor line which will be sold at Target.

After Announcing Their Show Is Ending, Chip Gaines Already Has A New Gig

After announcing that the hit HGTV show Fixer Upper will not be returning for a sixth season, there were a lot of questions surrounding what would be next for Chip and Joanna Gaines.

The show had it’s fair share of drama before calling it quits. In July, the couple were sued by former clients, whose house was hit by a drunk driver. The home owners believed it was the home renovation duos fault because the neighborhood was a bad choice.

“It’s like the Wild West here. There’s been a lot of commotion coming from the bars and the store across the street,” Kelly Downs said. “It’s been a problem from the beginning. We’ve lived here a year and a half and we feel deceived by the city of Waco and Magnolia Realty.”

Chip and Joanna announced on their blog the sudden departure from HGTV stating: “It is with both sadness and expectation that we share the news that season 5 of Fixer Upper will be our last. While we are confident that this is the right choice for us, it has for sure not been an easy one to come to terms with.”

There had been speculation that the couple who have four kids together were having difficulty in their marriage. They did confirm that wasn’t the case and that they just needed a break from the home renovation show.

“We would be foolish to think we can go and go and fire on all cylinders and never stop to pause. Our marriage has honestly never been stronger. This has nothing to do with a fraudulent skincare line or anything else you’ll inevitably read. This is just us recognizing that we need to catch our breath for a moment. Our plan is to take this time to shore up and strengthen the spots that are weak, rest the places that are tired and give lots of love and attention to both our family and our businesses.”

Now Chip has decided which direction he is going to take his career in, and it’s not what you would think.

‘Fixer Upper’ Is Coming To An End

HGTV is home to so many of our favorite shows, and Fixer Upper is definitely at the top of that list.

In July, the couple was sued by former clients, whose house was hit by a drunk driver. Ken and Kelly Downs believed it was the Gainses fault that the neighborhood was bad.

But now, after five seasons, Fixer Upper has announced they will not be back for a sixth.

So what prompted the decision?
