Michelle Obama Finally Reveals What Was In The Gift Box She Gave Melania Trump

Former first lady Michelle Obama recently appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show for her first television interview since her husband’s presidency ended in 2016.

Michelle opened up about a number of things that have occurred since she left the White House, including the awkward gift exchange moment she shared with Melania Trump on the morning of President Donald Trump’s 2017 swear-in ceremony.

In case you forgot, during the event, Melania presented the outgoing first lady with a Tiffany & Co. box. Although the gesture was nice, it was unexpected, considering how structured the event was, so the moments that followed were very awkward.

“You brought a gift!” the first lady said to Melania at the time. “I’ll take care of the protocol here,” chimed in former President Barack Obama.

As everyone else was preparing for a group photo, Michelle had no idea what to do with the box, and her reaction quickly got turned into one of most memorable memes of that year.

Now, Michelle, 54, has finally revealed what really going through her mind at the time and what was inside the box.

By now you’ve probably seen social media posts or groups called the Secret Sister Gift Exchange. The promises these posts make sound too good to be true: buy a $10 gift for the person at the top of the list, share the post, and soon you’ll get 36 gifts of your own in the mail.

Sadly, this is just a high-tech version of an old chain letter pyramid scheme, and it’s been circulating on social media websites since at least 2015.
