Parents Are Offering $3500 For A Stranger To Have “The Talk” With Their Children

Most parents dread the day that they have to talk to their kids about sex. One UK couple took to the internet to hire a professional for the job they were too uncomfortable to do.

The couple is willing to pay almost $3,500 dollars for someone to come to their home, and talk to their two children about the birds and the bees.

The online ad said, “I’m not sure if this is the right place to ask for this kind of help, but here goes. My husband and I are looking to hire someone to give our 8-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son the ‘talk’.”

“Like most parents, we were hoping we would have more time before this became a problem; ideally, I’d avoid it altogether! But we’re at the point now where they aren’t satisfied with the answer we’re giving them.

“I don’t trust the school to do a proper job teaching either of our children about the complexities of puberty, intimacy and consent which is why we’re looking for someone to handle this for us.”

If you’re thinking this sounds like the easiest $3,500 ever, you might be wrong. They aren’t just looking for a sex talk, they have a long list of topics they want covered.

Here is the list they posted:

“• How sex is between two people who are in love (preferably married but we’re modern enough to know that’s not always possible)

• Consent (with a possible discussion of rape culture)

• Sex with both genders, from foreplay to penetration

• Masturbation

• Periods (for our son too – we want him to be comfortable with this natural part of life for women)

But that’s not all they’re looking for…

Therapy Dogs Line Up To Help The Students Come Back To Class After Horrific School Shooting

The Parkland shooting in Florida was a tragic event, but now that two weeks have passed the students of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School are starting to get back to their normal routine.

In an attempt to make the transition back to school a little more comfortable, principal Ty Thompson arranged for a special treat for the students. He brought in a fleet of therapy dogs to provide comfort to the students who have been through so much, and the results are hard to argue with.

Thompson has been extremely active on Twitter since the event, and his focus has been first and foremost the emotional well-being of his students. As the students began returning, Thompson had arranged to have several therapy dogs on hand, ready to support the teens who have been through so much.

He has stated “the focus is on emotional readiness and comfort not curriculum” so that the students of MSD can begin to “reclaim the nest.”

The kids were welcomed by a fleet of smiling golden retrievers and each classroom had a different visiting support animal inside. A bunch of sweet dogs were cuddling the kids, helping them adjust to being back after the traumatic event.

After the first day, Thompson decided that what this school needed was more therapy dogs. He has increased the number of dogs every day that they’ve been back and the kids are thrilled.

As he helps to bring all the kids gain the strength they need to heal and carry on, Thompson has found a way to bring them a little bit of joy in this trying time.

The dogs have come from the Human Broward’s Animal Assisted Therapy, and they are happy to help. The dogs “participated in classes all day, made lots of new friends and provided unconditional love and comfort” according to their Instagram, and they are honored to be able give their support to these kids.

Blake Lively’s Daughter Calls Her Mom Out For Leaving The House Without Pants

Maternity clothes are no longer restricted to be worn during your pregnancy thanks to the fashion-forward Blake Lively.

The mom-of-two is married to Ryan Reynolds. The couple are parents to 3-year-old James and 16-month-old Inez.

Lively recently revealed that she lost the 61 pounds that she gained during her second pregnancy.

“It took me 14 months, but I fit in PVC now,” said said, referring to the bright red trench-coat she wore to the Michael Kors show during New York Fashion Week. “But, it’s also okay if you don’t. If that’s not a priority or a goal of yours, then that’s fine, too.”

She spent the last 14 months with her trainer Don Saladino to work hard at getting her body back after the birth of Inez.

“Turns out you can’t lose the 61 lbs you gained during pregnancy by just scrolling through instragram and wondering why you don’t look like all the bikini models. Thanks @donsaladino for kickin my A double S into shape. 10 months to gain, 14 months to lose. Feeling very proud 💪😁💪,” she captioned her Instagram post.

Now that she has slimmed down, she is not shy about showing off her figure again.

“After I had a kid I thought, ‘Okay, this is what my body looks like. This is amazing — I earned this body,’” she said in 2016. “‘And it’s not as good as it was before I had a kid, but, oh well.’”

The 30-year-old actress stepped out of the house wearing a top as a dress and skipping the pants, as a “lampshading” trend.

But not before her daughter had something to say about it.

Raising Good Kids Involves Five Secrets, According To Harvard

We all want to raise good kids. We try our best to teach them good values, but it’s not always an easy task. Personalities clash, and some kids just have a mind of their own. It’s hard to know whether or not your kids are listening and learning when you try to teach them things.

But according to psychologists at Harvard University, there are five secrets to raising a good kid, and if you want to make sure your kids turn into well-adjusted adults, you should take note! Even if you already have kids, see if your lessons make the list.

This sounds pretty simple, right? But it’s so important. Instead of plopping your child down in front of the television or computer, actually spend time with them. Reading, playing outside, or even just talking can leave a lasting impact on your kids. It will show them that it’s still important to make face-to-face connections with people, and they won’t feel like they’re being pushed to the side in favor of technology.

Think back to your own childhood, how many memories do you have with your parents? A lot, right? Make sure your kids have the same.

My mom and I have so many great memories from when I was younger. Facebook

“Even though most parents and caretakers say that their children being caring is a top priority, often children aren’t hearing that message,” Harvard researchers said.

If you’re asking a teacher if your child’s behavior has changed or if their grades or okay, let your kid know that’s happening. Children need vocal affirmation that they are important to you and that someone is caring about their well-being. Feeding them, clothing them, and putting a roof over their heads are expected by your kids, but putting emphasis on other areas of their lives is an important way to tell them you care.

I remember my parents went to every single parent-teacher interview, even if it wasn’t needed. They genuinely cared about my academic life and wanted me to know that. Sure, at the time I may have found their questions “annoying,” but as an adult I now realize they were doing it because they care.

Shannen Doherty Opens Up About Returning To Work Since Cancer Fight, And It’s An Inspiration To Us All

In August 2015, Shannen Doherty shook the world when she revealed to PEOPLE magazine she was battling breast cancer.

“Yes, I have breast cancer, and I am currently undergoing treatment,” she said. “I am continuing to eat right, exercise and stay very positive about my life. I am thankful to my family, friends and doctors for their support and, of course, my fans who have stood by me.”

The 90210 star was huge in the 80s and still carries her fame to this day.

Instagram

Doherty went through two rounds of chemo to help fight the cancer, and after the second round her hair began falling out. The actress started to panic, but she knew there was a solution.

“After my second treatment, my hair was really matted, like in dreadlocks. And I went to try and brush it out, and it just fell out,” she recalled. “I just remember holding onto huge clumps of my hair in my hands and just running to my mom crying, like, ‘My hair, my hair, my hair, my hair.'”

Doherty ended up shaving her whole head.

“We did stages. We did a pixie,” she said. “And then we did a mohawk, which was my favorite look. And then finally we had to get the shaver thing and just buzz it off.”

Instagram

On April 23, 2017, Doherty took to Instagram to let everyone know that she was in remission.

She still has a long road ahead of her, but part of that road includes returning to work. Doherty recently opened up about what it’s like to go back to work after fighting cancer.

Mom’s Heartbreaking Post About Her Bullied Daughter Is Too Relatable

Bullying is too common with today’s youth. With the invention of social media and the constant connection, kids all over the world are being bullied with the click of a button, and it needs to stop.

However, “old-fashioned” bullying still exists, and it’s time we start doing something about it. I remember when I was in elementary school, which was about 20 years ago, I was bullied because I had red hair. Then, when we moved schools, I was excluded because I was the new kid. Being a chubby kid didn’t help anything either.

Personal Photo

The bullying continued through high school, and though it wasn’t physical, it still cut like a knife. No child should have to be subjected to comments or taunting based on the way they look, act, or anything else for that matter.

That’s why when Instagram user, mytribeofsix, posted about her daughter’s bullying experience, everyone’s heart collectively broke.

Kate Gosselin Opens Up About ‘Limited Time Left’ With Oldest Daughters As They Get Ready For College

We have all been following the Gosselin family for years now, since the birth of the sextuplets 13-years-ago. Kate and Jon Gosselin let us all into their home to see what it was like to raise not only the six babies, but also their twin daughters who were just a few years older.

The twins, Mady and Cara, are 17 years old now, and their mom Kate has spoken up about the fact that they are about to go off to college.

Kate recently posted a photo of her daughter Mady, mentioning that there is “limited time left at home.”

Back in October, Kate revealed that the girls would soon go off to college. She said, “Happy birthday to my girls! My heart hurts because you’re almost adults and will soon leave for college, yet it smiles because I am seeing who you’ve become: brilliant, beautiful, kind, caring, logical, responsible, empathetic, honest, amazing individuals!”

It’s hard to believe that after watching them grow up they will soon be heading off to school. The Gosselin household has been full of kids for a long time now and Kate is coming to terms with the fact that her kids are going to grow up and move on. She has been speaking out on what it will be like once all her kids are out of the house…

Why Teaching Your Kids About Stranger Danger Could Do More Harm Than Good

Growing up, our parents always told us, “Don’t talk to strangers,” but is that what we should be telling our kids? Experts are telling us, no.

The “Stranger Danger,” lesson is where children are taught to never approach people they don’t know. This is done to protect children from predators or any bad intentions.

Experts are now saying that this lesson is extremely outdated, and sometimes does more harm than good.

“Whenever we’re teaching our kids, we want to help them to learn how to make the best decisions,” says parenting expert, Julie Freedman-Smith, of parenting power. “But rather than blanketing all strangers as dangerous – which is, of course, not the case – it’s really about helping kids get clear on using their own ‘how their tummy feels about someone’ (feeling) and helping them figure out who is a safe stranger.”

By portraying all strangers as dangerous, we might be teaching our children not to seek help from someone they don’t know, if necessary and no one else is around.

There are ways to teach your kids about strangers without telling them all strangers are bad. Here’s how:

Mom Facing Criticism For Charging Her 5-Year-Old Daughter “Rent”

How old were you when you moved out of your parents’s house? I was 18 years old when I moved away to university. I lived in residence for a year and then got my own apartment. It was a big of learning curve, because I was so used to having everything done for me. But the biggest issue I ran into was money. I never realize how much everything cost and had no concept of a legitimate savings plan.

My first apartmentpersonal

Now of course, my parents tried to tell me to save and that I’d need money in the future, but it just never stuck with me. “Why would I not spend the money I have right now so that I can spend it in the future?” It didn’t make sense.

One mother in Georgia decided to teach her daughter about rent and expenses in an interesting way, and by all accounts it’s a decent idea, but there’s one thing that people have an issue with: she’s 5.

8 Things That New Parents Have No Idea That They Need

There is no manual for being a parent. You are quite literally thrown into the fire, and you realistically just have to “fake it until you make it.” No two situations are the same, just as no two kids are the same, and often times you will find yourself searching for anything that could just help make the whole process a little easier, trust me, I know.

Thankfully, through innovation, creativity and technology, a number of products have been developed that can help to make parenting just a little bit easier. As parents, anything that can make the job go a bit more smoothly, we’ll try it.

Let’s look at 8 must-have items that should be on every new parents list.

Changing diapers can be a “dangerous” proposition, you never know what you’re going to find in there, or what can suddenly happen while in the process. This portable changing station helps to keep things a lot cleaner and far more sanitary. It’s well worth every penny.

Shared Family

When you become a parent, you get to experience a whole level of paranoia that you never knew existed. This camera connects to your iPhone and allows you to check in on your child from wherever you are.

Medicine doesn’t always taste good, especially when it comes to some flavors of children’s meds. It can be quite difficult to get kids to take their medicine when they know it’s coming. This sippy cup lets you hide what’s really going on while you child enjoys some juice.

When it gets dry in your home, you will likely start to hear your child coughing on the regular. Using this cool mist humidifier will help relieve the stress on your child’s breathing, and it will make the room feel more comfortable.

Apple Shareholders Worried About The Effects Its Products Have On Children

As we move further and further into the 21st Century, it’s becoming all the more obvious that today’s kids aren’t going to ever know a time when their entire life wasn’t on the internet. When things like Facebook, Youtube, and Instagram all came out, we remember them as a fun novelty that changed some aspects of our lives. For an entire generation though, these things are a regular part of every day life.

Engadget

Kids are not only being exposed to things like social media and internet video at a significantly younger age than ever before, but people are now opting to use things like tablets and smartphones to babysit their children instead of TV. Sure, a lot of the apps they use are billed as being educational and beneficial for their children, but how sure are you of that?

Digital Trends

Well, apparently there’s one group of people that aren’t so sure of the impact these things are having on kids, and they just happen to be tied to one of the biggest tech companies in the entire world.

That’s right: two major shareholders in Apple (yes, THAT Apple) have demanded that the company take a more serious look at the impact their products are potentially having on younger generations!

A Look Back At Our Happiest Moments From 2017

It’s still early into 2018, but by now we’ve had time to acquaint ourselves with the new year and breathe a collective sigh of relief that we are no longer in 2017.

It was a difficult year, with trials and tribulations, heartbreaks and scandals, and more than enough tragedy to fit inside a mere 365 days. But alongside those hard times, there were also brief moments of love and compassion.

These instances gave us hope when they happened, and even though we have a lot to expect from 2018, let’s take a look back at our happiest moments from last year and remember the good times as we move forward!

When one man found himself heartbroken over a recent breakup, he thought that his life was effectively over. As he dragged himself around the house, he came across someone hurting more than he was.

A sick, starving cat had found its way inside his home and into his new owners arms. The man took in the kitten and nursed him, and his broken heart, back to health. There really are everyday heroes out there!

A dance troupe of girls on the popular Britain’s Got Talent had big dreams to win the competition, but unlike most contestants just looking for fame, they had a heartfelt reason for reaching the top.

One member, 15-year-old Julia Carlile, had lived with scoliosis since she was six, and was going to use her prize money to pay for a surgery to correct her spine.

Unfortunately, the girls ended up finishing 9th in the final round, but their dream wasn’t over. Show host Simon Cowell decided that no one should be denied their good health, paying for her surgery out-of-pocket.

It was a deadly situation that only quick thinking could solve. When nine people were swept out to sea in a riptide, other swimmers could only watch helplessly as they were carried further away from shore.

The bystanders knew they had to do something, but couldn’t risk swimming out into the tide themselves. So instead, they linked their arms and waded themselves out to rescue the stragglers.

From there, expert swimmers paddled out to the drowning people and passed them back to shore. None of them died that day, thanks to their selfless efforts!

How To Get Those Impossible Chocolate Stains Out Of Anything

Having kids means having to put up with a lot of things. It could be the constant pouting, their need to wander off, but most of all, the mess.

Children are geniuses in coming up with new ways to make everything dirty, with everything from dirt to crayons. But something you don’t have to put up with any longer is stains from their favorite treat, chocolate.

Chocolate is the worst to deal with. It melts, gets all sticky, and leaves a trace that up until now you thought would stay forever. But before you throw away those fabrics, give these products a try and you’ll be amazed at how different those “ruined” articles look!

This is going to be the most common one to deal with. It seems like kids actually want to smear the chocolate all over their clothes, especially if they have just come out of the wash!

Before you do anything, scrape off as much chocolate as you can from the stain. Next, instead of using some expensive stain remover, pretreat the piece of clothing with Shout Advanced Gel, then stick it in the washing machine. If still present, lather, rinse, repeat.

You can get it here, on Amazon.

But what about everything else?

Paris Jackson Shares Rare Photo Of Her Younger Brother ‘Blanket’ Jackson

Paris, Prince, and Blanket Jackson have grown up a lot since their father died back in 2009. His sudden death was hard on the children, but they have found that together they can survive. Prince, the oldest child, was only 12 years old when he lost his father and had to act as a role model for his younger siblings, 11-year-old Paris and 7-year-old Blanket.

There were issues over the years, especially with Paris. She struggled with depression and drug addiction, but now at 19 she has managed to find her calling. She has started acting, and will soon be in a movie with Charlize Theron called Gringo.

Paris Jackson has been in the media a lot more than either of her siblings, especially now that she has become a model and actress, but her brothers tend to be a little bit more reclusive.

While Prince is seen every now and then, her little brother Blanket has been keeping out of the spotlight as much as possible. However, this Christmas, his sister shared a picture of what he looks like at age 15…

Father Trying To Give Kids Happy Christmas After Mother Eaten By A Cougar

A Californian dad is begging for help this holiday season in order to help his children deal with the grief of losing three family members this year, including their mother.

Michelle ‘Yin’ Wong, was found mauled by a mountain lion after her puzzling disappearance earlier this month.

The young mother, only 33-years-old, had apparently left the children alone at home one night to go walking in the Californian wilderness with no shoes and only a light dress on.

Her sudden death comes as a shock to her three surviving children, who were still grieving the loss of their grandparents earlier this year.

Their father, Santino, is doing his best to raise his children on his own, but fears he won’t be able to afford to give them the holiday they need right now.

“Our goal as a family is to take the children’s minds off of the horrible tragedies for just a moment and provide them with the best possible Christmas that we can,’said their uncle, Ricardo DeCarlo.

They have set up a GoFundMe page asking for a modest amount of $1000 to pay for extra gifts, and the response was immediate.

25 Times Kids Really Didn’t Enjoy Their Holly Jolly Photo-Op With Santa

Every year, parents bring their kids to the mall to get their picture taken with Santa. They get the chance to finally ask for what they really want, and maybe justify some of those days where they didn’t exactly make the nice list.

The problem is that kids don’t seem to always love being handed to a stranger and being told to smile. I guess having a bearded man laugh a jolly “ho, ho, ho” in your face doesn’t seem to make everyone happy. Luckily, Santa is a pro and never seems to take it personally.
