Dietitian Says Having Pizza For Breakfast Isn’t A Bad Idea After All

Gather round everyone, we have good news!

Dietitian and blogger Chelsey Amer has made all of our wildest dreams come true. In a new interview with the Chicago Tribune, she argues that it’s actually healthier to start your day with a slice of pizza than a bowl of breakfast cereal.

Pizza Hut

We don’t need to be convinced, but if you’re feeling confused, let Amer explain.

“You may be surprised to find out that an average slice of pizza and a bowl of cereal with whole milk contain nearly the same amount of calories,” she told the paper.

“However, pizza packs a much larger protein punch, which will keep you full and boost satiety throughout the morning.”

When you also consider that your average bowl of cereal contains much more sugar than a slice of pepperoni and cheese, the choice becomes obvious.

Amer says the swap could even help you avoid the mid-morning “sugar crash” that comes after enjoying your cereal bowl.

If you’re not ready to make the jump to a morning meat lover’s just yet, Amer has more advice to help you eat smarter in the morning.

  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • (optional) dill pickle slices for topping

  3. In a separate skillet, cook the bacon until done. Let it cool and crumble it.

  • 4 ounce cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons parmesan

  • ½ cup cheddar, grated
  • 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 3 jalapeno, sliced
  • pizza dough
  • cheese string
  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees
  2. Spread cream cheese over pizza, sprinkle cheeses and bacon. Arrange jalapeno slices and bake for 20 min

  • 1⁄8 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 cup grated mozzarella cheese

  2. While garlic is sautéing, rinse and dry thawed shrimp
  3. Pour garlic butter sauce onto the pizza crust and ensure that the garlic is evenly distributed all over the crust. I use a pastry brush.
  4. Top with the shrimp, ensuring that it is evenly distributed all over the crust.
  5. Dust with cayenne pepper, top with grated mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  6. Bake according to your pizza dough recipe instructions. My recipe takes 12 to 15 minutes. You want the dough completely baked and the top to be bubbly and slightly brown.
  7. Enjoy!

Church Congregation Helps Struggling Delivery Guy In Beautiful Act

When you feel like you have hit rock bottom, every little aspect of life can feel like it is dragging you further down into the abyss. But occasionally, something can happen that will give you that little boost you need to keep on pushing through towards the goal of climbing back out into the light.

For 22-year-old pizza delivery driver Jeff Louis from Mentor, Ohio, it was delivery to a local church that helped turn things around for him.

The Inquisitr

Jeff has been struggling with substance abuse for some time, but he has been making a concentrated effort to get clean, and get his life back on track. He has been working as a pizza delivery driver for Gionino’s Pizzeria in order to make a living.

One morning in the beginning of January his work called him early to make a delivery to the Point Life Church. Not one to turn down work, Jeff came in and loaded the pizzas up in his car and headed off to make the drop.

When he got to the church, several members of the congregation came out to the street to meet him, and they made a rather odd request of him. They asked that he take one of the pizzas he had brought, and bring it up to the pastor on the stage. As odd as the request was, Jeff had a job to do, so he did it. He had no idea that it would be such a life changing moment for him.

A New Spin on the Classic Chicken Pot Pie Recipe!

Are you getting bored of the same old recipes, and interested in trying something new? Look no further! Chicken Pot Pie Pizza delivers the same great taste we all know and love, but also gives it a new spin adding pizza into the mix! Try it today!

  • 4 teaspoons olive oil, divided
  • ¼ cup onion, diced
  • ¼ cup carrot, diced
  • ½ cup celery, diced
  • ¼ cup frozen peas
  • 1 ½ tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup chicken stock
  • 10 ounces refrigerated pizza dough
  • 5 ounces rotisserie chicken, shredded
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh thyme, chopped
  • Flat leaf parsley, chopped
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
  1. Preheat oven to 500 degrees, placing a 12-inch cast-iron pan in while it preheats.
  2. In a large pan over medium-high heat, heat 1 teaspoon of oil, then cook the onion until slightly soft. Add in the carrot, celery, and peas, cooking another minute, then empty the mixture into a bowl and set aside.
  3. Returning the pan to the heat, stir together the flour and 1 tablespoon oil, cooking about 30 seconds, whisking constantly. Add in chicken stock slowly, continuing to stir. Bring up to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer, making sure to whisk frequently until the mixture thickens, about 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  4. Roll dough out into a 12-inch circle on a lightly floured flat surface. Working very carefully, place the dough into the preheated pan, flattening it out to cover the bottom. Bake about 5 minutes, or until lightly browned, then remove from oven.
  5. Turn the heat in the oven to broil.
  6. Spread ½ cup of the stock mixture on the pizza crust evenly, then add onion mixture, chicken, and cheese. Place back in the oven until cheese has melted, about 2 more minutes.
  7. Remove from oven, then drizzle pizza with remaining stock mixture. Garnish with thyme, parsley, salt, and pepper.
