Teen Gets Tattoo Of Late Grandmother’s Voice Recording

A Chicago teenager got a permanent reminder of her late grandmother’s love by getting a truly unique tattoo.

After the death of her cherished grandmother, Sakyrah Morris decided keep her memory alive by getting a tattoo of her last voicemail.

The ink forms a replica of the voicemail’s sound waves and thanks to an iPhone app, every word can be heard out loud.

With the help of a new technology called Skin Motion, Morris can hold her iPhone camera over her tattoo and activate the recording on her phone through image recognition, BBC’s Newsbeat reports.

“I had been holding onto that voicemail for what’s been almost three years now and I got the idea recently to get it tattooed,” Morris says. “I figured it’d be something permanent that would be across my heart to be more meaningful.”

6 Types Of Tattoos That People ‘Ragret’ Getting The Most, And How To Avoid Them

As tattoos become more and more commonplace and popular in our world, we get to see all the amazing creations that artists and their clients come up with in order to express themselves.

However, sometimes people get tattoos that are less of a personal expression and more of a glaring, awful mistake. In particular, there are six kinds of tattoos that people statistically regret the most, and knowing what they are is the first step to avoiding similar regrets yourself.

Ugliest Tattoos

We’ll start off with the easiest thing to avoid first. Look folks, if it’s worth getting on your body permanently for the rest of your life, it’s worth spending the money to make sure it looks good. There’s nothing wrong with shopping around for a reputable shop that’s also affordable, but 90% of the time this is a field where the old adage of “you get what you pay for” is very true.

Smosh

There’s nothing wrong with wanting a quote or a line of text as a tattoo, but if you’re going to go that route, you need to be very, VERY careful that you don’t accidentally end up with a total mistake permanently stuck on your body. Do a thorough search on the quote you’re looking to get: don’t trust that the first result you see on Google has gotten it right. Also, make sure your artist can actually spell worth a damn.

Giphy

Getting a tattoo with someone you love can be a wonderful, heartwarming experience, but be realistic for a second: things can always change. A partner one day can be an ex the next, and if that time comes, do you want one of their features to be visibly on you forever? At the very least, get a symbol or something that’s meaningful to the two of you but isn’t their name or face.

Think you can guess what the other three tattoo regrets are?

People Are Turning To Hair Tattoos In Order To Avoid Balding

Getting old sucks. Having to deal with aches, wrinkles, constant sickness, and if that isn’t bad enough, your hair also decides to just fall out.

No one likes having to deal with these side effects of aging, but unfortunately for some, they have to deal with it much sooner than anyone else.

This was the case for Mehtap Francis, who was already balding in her twenties felt like her whole life was slipping away as she kept losing hair with every passing year. Midway through her thirties, she had a noticeable bald patch, and at age 46 she said enough was enough.

“I felt so unhappy and my confidence really went,” she said. “I like to look nice but was constantly paranoid about my hair.”

Having tried many solutions earlier in her life, she was doubtful of what could be done. Hair pieces that she had glued on only made the problem worse, and no chemical or formula seemed to do anything to stop the hair loss.

That’s when she heard about scalp micropigmentation (SMP) procedure, which promised to make her look like new! For Francis, this sounded like a crazy experiment, but she decided to investigate.

They Were Branded By Pimps And Abusive Boyfriends, But Now These Women Are Being Given A Fresh Start

There’s a disturbing new trend that’s becoming increasingly common among teenagers, and the implications of it are pretty horrifying. As more and more young girls are falling into substance abuse (thanks in no small part to the opioid crisis going on right now) and homelessness, many of them are turning to abusive relationships and prostitution in order to feed their habits or even just have somewhere to live.

KTIV

That’s not the new part of the trend though. The new part is that more and more of these girls are being dosed with alcohol and drugs by either their pimps or abusive boyfriends, and then taken to seedy tattoo artists who proceed to tattoo these girls with the initials or names of their abusers.

There’s no consistency to where and how it’s done either, as the tattoos are often placed on either the girls’s arms, hands, necks, butts, or even their genitalia. Suffice it to say, it’s pretty horrifying.

Media Assets

While police continue to crack down on the exploitation of teenagers as much as they can, the girls who are able to escape these horrific fates are still stuck with the brand of their abusers, which can leave them feeling like cattle.

Fortunately, good samaritans are stepping up to help out the situation, including a man who is doing what he can to get rid of these brands, and free of charge at that.

Hilary Duff’s New Tattoo Is The Perfect Tribute To Bette Davis and Hollywood

Known as one the greatest actresses in Hollywood history, Bette Davis continues to leave her mark on familiar faces in the industry.

With a long Hollywood career that started in 1931, she worked until 1989 in film, theater and even appeared on TV.

She had a gift for playing unlikable characters and had a reputation of being tough off-screen, as well. In an age where women who spoke their minds were dismissed as difficult, she became a beacon for women.

She famously was known from throwing shade at her rivals including Joan Crawford.

“Why am I so good at playing bitches? I think it’s because I’m not a bitch. Maybe that’s why [Joan Crawford] always plays ladies,” she was caught saying.

She became the first person to secure ten Academy Award nominations for acting and only three people have surpassed her since.

Hilary Duff has now added a new design to her extensive collection of tattoos and its the perfect tribute to the Hollywood star.

Brooklyn Beckham Is Following In His Father’s Footsteps With His Latest Tattoo

In 1999, international soccer player David Beckham went under the needle for his first tattoo. He got his son’s name, Brooklyn, written in classic Gothic script on his lower back to commemorate his birth.

Daily Mail

Eighteen years later, Brooklyn, payed homage to his famous father by getting his arm inked with an illustration of a Native American chief, which is an exact replica of David’s torso tattoo.

“Honoured to have my first tattoo done by dads friend Mark Mahoney,” Brooklyn wrote on Instagram.

Taking a page out his father’s book, Brooklyn followed up his “controversial” tattoo with six more, including the “Made in England” in old type font that confused the internet.

According to some internet users, who seem to know Brooklyn’s origin story better than he himself, the tattoo wrong because although he was brought up in England, he was “made” in New York, which inspired his name.

Turns out, they were wrong. Brooklyn’s mother, former Spice Girl-turned-fashion designer, Victoria Beckham said she “became pregnant in Denmark.”

“We were on tour with Spice Girls and had come to Copenhagen,” Victoria said in an interview. “David visited me and yes … so it happened,” she added.

However, none of the hoopla surrounding Brooklyn’s body art seems to phase him. The teen continued to add to his collection, and he may soon catch up to his dad’s record of 40 tattoos.

Brooklyn just got one of the most painful tattoos on his sternum, and it is something you’d never expect.

Getting a tattoo can be an exceedingly personal experience. You can get pieces done that represent who you are as a person, tell the story of your life, be art that you simply think is awesome to look at, or you can get tattoos that could potentially save your life or give doctors important information.

No one knows how many people have actually received these medical alert tattoos because there are no organizations that actually track them.

One verified case is that of Chris Miller, who decided that he would get a medical alert tattoo. The 42-year-old journalist from Edmonton, Canada has Type-1 diabetes and got a tattoo sharing the information, just in case there is ever a medical emergency where he is unconscious or worse.

US News Health – US News & World Report

Miller was diagnoses as a type-1 diabetic when he was only three years old, and had always worn a medic alert bracelet.

“I’ve always worn medical alert bracelets and, over the years, they break from time to time,” says Miller. “I just thought a tattoo made sense because it’s permanent.” He added that getting a tattoo wasn’t that strange a concept for him. “I’m sort of used to needles.”

Getting a “medical alert” tattoo might not be the best option at this point, because doctors and emergency medical personal aren’t actually trained to look for them, there is no standard practice about where they should be placed on the body.

Dr. Mark Reiter has never seen one in over ten years working in emergency medicine. Because there are no standard procedures for such things, he says that there can be mixed messages.

“If I saw somebody who came in and had a tattoo that said ‘diabetes,’ I’d think that this guy probably has diabetes, but who knows?” Reiter says. “Maybe it was that his mom had diabetes, and he was trying to make a statement.”

But what happens when someone comes in with a tattoo that contains important medical related information?

10 People Who Turned Their Body Into A Drawing Board

As the years pass, culture and socially accepted practices tend to change. When I got my first tattoo in 2004 it was still considered somewhat socially unacceptable; only “criminals and military personnel” were expected to be heavily inked up. Now, everyone and their grandmothers have decided to take their first steps into a tattoo parlor.

I now find myself in the majority; those people with a tattoo as opposed to not. That being said, there are still levels to a person’s dedication to body modification, and some people have taken it to extremes that I would never consider for myself.

Here are 10 of the most heavily tattooed people in the world.

Paul Lawrence is more commonly known by his alias, The Enigma. He is a musician, actor and stage performer who has covered himself completely in jigsaw puzzle pieces. He has had over 200 tattoo artists work on him while completing his bodysuit.

With over 75% of his body completely covered in ink, along with a huge number of implants and piercings, Kala Kawai is someone who is used to being stared at. He owns his own tattoo parlor which explains why he has never been hesitant to continue his body modification journey. You will be excused if you think that he has taken his passion above and beyond what is considered normal.

Crazy Ask

Clearly Mr. Avner is obsessed with both tattoos and cats. He has spent many years of his life making his startling transformation. Not only did he cover his entire body in tiger stripes, but he has also undergone a ton of plastic surgery to complete the look he is going for. He was found dead in November 2012. There are unconfirmed rumors that he may have committed suicide.

Canadian, Rick Genest, gained infamy when he posted a series of photos of himself online in 2010. He became so widely known that he was even featured in the music video for Lady Gaga’s song, “Born This Way.” It is easy to see why they call him Zombie Boy.

Justin Bieber Gets New Tattoo That Covers His Entire Torso

Justin Bieber is potentially the most polarizing figure in the music industry. The Biebs was just 15 years old when his first song, One Time, was released.

The Canadian superstar has recently become known for his interesting choices in tattoos, such as this one of his ex-girlfriend, Selena Gomez.

Or the “Son of God” written across his chest.

After a string of bad press and a trying world tour, Bieber decided to duck out of the spotlight and focus on his relationship with God. But he made headlines once again when he showed fans the new, full-torso tattoo he now has.
