Can you imagine if the 2020 presidential candidates for the most powerful country in the world was to comprise of two television personality stars?
At this point in time, anything seems possible.
After Oprah Winfrey was honored with the Cecile B. DeMille award, and gave an emotional speech at the 2018 Golden Globe Awards, celebrities and fans encouraged her to run for president.
Oprah retweeted an article calling her “Democrats’ best hope for 2020,” and said that Donald Trump’s election made her feel qualified to run for president. She recently hasn’t explicitly said she’d run for office, but there’s no doubt that this wealthy media mogul has thought of the idea.
After the awards ceremony, Winfrey’s longtime partner Stedman Graham told the Los Angeles Times that she would “absolutely” run for president, but “it’s up to the people.”
This stirred a two-sided argument on social media platforms, where people tried to imagine a world run by the television personality.
If she does happen to run, President Donald Trump thinks Oprah doesn’t stand a chance running against him.
