Once Donald Trump’s first term as president is completed, don’t be surprised to see another familiar face jump into the nomination ring.
For the past year, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has hinted at his desire for candidacy in the 2020 election.
Johnson was promoting his latest film,Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, at the Los Angeles Comic Con on Oct. 28 when an audience member asked the former WWE star about making a bid for the White House during a panel discussion.
“I think ‘The People’s President’ has a really nice ring to that. I’ll just say that,” Johnson said.
While the concept of Johnson’s presidential bid has been reported for over a year and a half, Johnson first responded to candidacy rumours when he told Vanity Fair last November that running was a possibility because “it would be a great opportunity to help people.”
In a May interview with GQ Magazine, Johnson further voiced his presidential ambitions. He also mentioned how both Hilary Clinton and Trump’s camps reached out to him for his endorsement in the 2016 election.
