The Most-Ordered Foods From Your Favorite Restaurant Chains

You probably have a go-to dish at your favorite restaurant. Burger and fires? Chicken fingers? Steak dinner?

But is your go-to the same as everyone else’s? Let’s find out!

Who doesn’t love a burger with bacon and a giant onion ring? No one, that’s who. The Legendary Burger is the most ordered menu item.

Shocking, right? I for sure thought this one would be the Bloomin’ Onion. But I guess they aren’t called the Outback Bloomin’ Onion house. The Special Sirloin is the most ordered menu item.

Even though for the most part these biscuits are brought to you without being ordered, you can still request them to take home. Over 350 million of the Cheddar Bay Biscuits are produced each year.

Loaded Potato Skins are the most popular menu item at TGI Fridays, and honestly it makes sense. The appetizer debuted in 1974 and it has been flawless ever since.

10 Celebrities Who Were Secretly Spies During World War 2

We like to think that secret agents, coded messages and undercover saboteurs only belong in cheesy movies, but spies are very real. In fact, these 10 celebrities all lived a double life as spies during the Second World War:

The glamorous German actress burned up the screens in the ’30s and ’40s, but when the war broke out both America and Germany questioned her allegiance. Dietrich publicly condemned the Nazis, and did USO tours for troops overseas. But she was also investigated by the FBI, and had family living in Germany during the war.

The organization later enlisted her, giving the actress a chance to prove her dedication to America by “collecting observations about subversive activities in Europe” during her tours. To this day, historians debate whether Dietrich was an American spy or a double agent.

The children’s book author was actually a Royal Air Force pilot at the start of the war, when a painful crash forced him to take a desk job instead. He moved to Washington, D.C., where he wrote British propaganda for American newspapers.

Dahl during World War 2.EDP24

Eventually Dahl was given a much livelier job: seducing the wives and female relatives of American VIPs to learn their secrets. This included Congresswoman Clare Booth Luce, who was married to the publisher of Time magazine and so smitten with Dahl that he asked to be reassigned somewhere else.

Before her success as a celebrity chef, Child rose through the ranks of the Office of Strategic Services, which would later become the CIA. Starting out as a clerk, she was eventually promoted to a research position, developing shark repellent for underwater missions.

Later, Child was assigned to listening posts in far-off locations like China and Sri Lanka, where she recorded secret messages intercepted by the government.

In the ’20s and ’30s, Berg was nicknamed “the brainiest man in baseball.” Along with being a star player for the Dodgers, Berg was a Princeton grad who spoke 12 languages and earned four degrees, including a law degree from Columbia that he earned while playing ball.

When he was traded to the Washington Senators, Berg was recruited to spy for the U.S. government on his trips overseas. He recorded footage of Japanese military installations, and was once caught trying to sneak onto an air base.

Berg’s most dangerous mission was a fact-finding trip to Germany, where he would identify if the Nazis were close to making a working A-bomb. If they were, Berg was told to shoot the project’s head physicist Werner Heisenberg. Thankfully, he realized they were years away from building the weapon.

A Journalist Believed She’d Discovered The Truth Behind JFK’s Murder, Then She Turned Up Dead

You probably remember Dorothy Kilgallen from the show What’s my Line?. No, it’s not an early version of Whose Line Is It Anyway?. This show was a long-running panel game show where celebrities would ask a contestant questions so they could guess his or her line of work.

The night before she was murdered, Kilgallen appeared on the show and correctly guessed the occupation of a mystery guess. It’s these keen investigative skills that most likely got her killed.

Dorothy Kilgallen was an investigative reporter, who had been working for 18 months on gathering information on the JFK assassination.

“I’m going to break the real story and have the biggest scoop of the century,” she told her lawyer.

Kilgallen and Kennedy were close friends, so when he died she took it very personally.

“The American people have just lost a beloved president,” she wrote in her column. “It’s a dark chapter in our history, but we have the right to read every word of it.”

Kilgallen was killed just two weeks before a meeting with a secret informant, referring to the gathering as “very cloak and daggerish.”  The journalist always believed that theories of Lee Harvey Oswald acting alone were “laughable.” She kept digging, pissing off then-FBI director J. Edgar Hoover when she obtained and published the testimony of Jack Ruby, who shot Oswald at Dallas police headquarters. Kilgallen never released her source, saying “I’d rather die than reveal the source.”

“If the wrong people knew what I know about the JFK assassination, it would cost me my life,” Kilgallen said to a close friend.

Little did she know, she was right.

She Got A Risky Tattoo, And Now May Go Blind Because Of It

Tattoos have become exceptionally popular over the last several years. While there used to be a big stigma attached to them, more and more people are changing their minds and seeing them in a different light.

Plenty of younger people love getting tattoos as a way of expressing themselves, and even older generations are starting to get in on the action. They’re a great way to commemorate people you love, memories you cherish, or designs that represent your personality.

Or maybe you just really want a giant monster on your back. You do you, we’re not here to judge.

However, like most things, tattoos carry some inherent risks that can pose serious threats to your health if you’re not careful. You need to be mindful of how clean the shop you go to keeps their equipment, how professional your artist is, and keeping it clean afterwards in order to avoid infection, or worse.

Case and point: a woman might lose her vision because of a tattoo she decided to get, and she’s warning people about doing the same.

17-Year-Old Babysitter Went Above And Beyond To Save The Lives Of The Kids She Was Watching

As a parent it is hard to leave my children in the care of people who don’t belong to our family. Even though I had a string of babysitters as a young child who were great people, I still wonder if they would have been willing to face danger to save my life, or now, my children?

One family in Coweta County, Georgia can put that question to bed. They had left their two-year-old twins in the care of 17-year-old Hailey Arnold before going out for the night.

One of the twins came running to get Hailey to show her that there was a fire in the playroom.

There’s A New Netflix Scam That Is Affecting Thousands, Be On The Lookout

Netflix is one of the biggest success stories in modern media. Originally pitched to Blockbuster Video as a way for people to rent DVDs through the mail (Blockbuster turned them down, look how that ended), the service has grown into the most massive online streaming service in the world.

Not only do they carry dozens of shows and movies we already love (while constantly adding more), but since 2013, Netflix’s original programming has given us massive hits like House of Cards, Orange Is The New Black, Sense8, and Marvel’s The Defenders franchise.

With over 103 MILLION subscribers around the world and revenue of over $8 BILLION, it’s safe to say that the company has firmly established themselves and aren’t going anywhere anytime soon.

Unfortunately, money like that can often attract some pretty unsavory characters, and right now there are a few who are trying to trick Netflix customers out of their hard-earned money.

Keep reading for details on this scam and how to avoid being tricked by it…

13-Year-Old Taught Himself How To Make A Tiny Home, And You’ll Love The Result

How’s this for breaking a trend: at a time when almost 40% of college grads are moving back in with their parents, 13-year-old Luke Thill has already built his own house.

The teenager started work on his tiny home in June, with no plans and no construction knowledge. He had become fascinated with YouTube videos of people building the trendy houses, and realized no one his age was making them.

“I was just on YouTube looking around and came across a tiny house idea and then that spiraled into looking at almost every YouTube video there is, it felt like,” he told ABC. “I got obsessed with them and decided to build my own.”

His parents, Greg and Angie, were encouraging, but set some firm ground rules at the start of the project. Luke had to raise all the money to build the home himself by doing odd jobs and chores, and they insisted he should stay under his $1,500 budget. To get him started, Greg showed his son how to build the frame for his house.

Learning from YouTube videos and local builders along the way, Luke traded time, money, skills and materials until he completed this seriously impressive project…

There’s A Book On How To Fake Your Death To Get Out Of Debt And It’s Surprisingly Legal

Debt is one of the most debilitating facts of life. Very few people (including the super-rich) are able to avoid falling into debt’s clutches. Student debt is particularly debilitating for people trying to build a life for themselves. Elizabeth Greenwood was being crushed by her own student debt and thought that the best way to get through the trouble would be to fake her own death.

Though she says she never truly considered “killing herself off” she did get fairly deep into the process. Greenwood went to the Philippines in order to start the process.

Selfless ‘Grandpa’ Makes Sure These Sick Kids Never Have To Be Alone

Having your child in intensive care is incredibly stressful. You might not be able to go see them every day, but luckily that’s where the ‘ICU Grandpa’ steps in!

Hugh Hefner Left His Wife Out Of His Will

Hugh Hefner recently passed away, but it would be a lie to say he didn’t live a good life.

In 1953, the iconic Playboy magazine was launched be Hefner, who hadn’t hit 30 years old yet.

“It was an exciting time because I had no idea how things would turn out,” Hefner said. “I launched the magazine on $5000 dollars. My mother loaned me $1000. The first issue came out at the end of 1953. I knew I needed something original. I had a photographer shoot a 3D feature for the first issue and learned it would cost too much money. When the 3D thing turned out to be too expensive, at that same moment I came across the photos of Marilyn Monroe. People had heard about it but they hadn’t seen it. And that was the first issue.”

Hefner was married to his childhood sweetheart, Mildred Williams from 1949 to 1959. Together, they had two children, Christie and David.

“I was an absent dad. Once the magazine started, I really had two families,” Hefner revealed to People. “The dream was the magazine. I worked through the night all the time.”

After their marriage fell apart, Hefner had many girlfriends. He married again in 1989, this time to Kimberely Conrad. Together, they had two sons, Martson and Cooper.

“I was more into the marriage the second time,” Hefner confessed. “It was good. I was ready to be a dad again…having two boys was a parallel of my own childhood, my brother and I.”

The couple separated in 1998 but didn’t officially divorce until 11 years later in 2010. In 2012, Hefner married his third wife, Crystal Harris. Despite their 60-year age gap, the two seemed to be in love.

“I didn’t give [getting married again] a lot of thought,” said Hefner in an interview. “I wasn’t really planning on getting married. She indicated that she wanted. And I don’t think either one of us has ever regretted it. We’re very happy together. I’m not sure how, but something clicked there very quickly. Crystal is one in a million. I feel very lucky to have her in my life in this way.”

When Hefner passed away, he left behind a $43 million fortune, not to mention the $100 million he made off selling the Playboy Mansion. He had $36million worth of stocks and bonds and $6million in a joint account with an unnamed person. His monthly earnings from the magazine only totaled $100,000, with the rest coming from his pension.

However, if Crystal thought this was a game of “wait it out and then get rich,” you would be wrong.

The Catwoman Of Boca Raton Is A One-Woman Animal Rescue Team

It’s no secret that Gretchen Byrne loves cats – she has six of her own at home, after all – but she’s not your average pet owner.

The 42-year-old police officer from Boca Raton, Florida protects the streets by day, but at night she’s a one-woman animal rescue team, looking after south Florida’s stray cat population. “Everyone knows me as the cop that loves cats,” she explains. “If I’m not working, this is what I’m doing.”

Her “second job” started two years ago, when she found a pair of stray kittens while on patrol. Many animal shelters in her area are at full capacity, so Byrne took the kittens home instead and nursed them back to health. The dedicated cop actually skipped her own breaks to make sure the animals were fed.

Then, a group of strays moved in next to Byrne’s station – maybe they’d heard about her – and finding them all new homes became the officer’s pet project. One by one, Byrne paired the cats up with forever homes, mostly with other officers in her department.

Along the way Byrne discovered she has a passion for sheltering stray cats, and her record with the animals is seriously impressive…

These Guys Are Music’s Best Kept Secret, But That’s About To Change

The violin has always been associated with classical music. It has been seen to be played by those privileged enough to be able to afford lessons on the difficult to play instrument. In recent years we have seen the scope of the instrument change, partly in thanks to groups like Black Violin, who use the instrument in ways that have never been seen before. They add a touch of hip-hop and soul to the playing the violin, giving the instrument a complete makeover.

When I was in grade school and high school, just saying that you play the violin would have made you the target of bullies and people who didn’t understand the power of music. Black Violin has changed all that, even making me wish that I had taken the time to learn how to make the strings sing.

7 Brain Games That Will Keep Your Mind Sharp As A Tack

Most people would agree that playing mind games with your loved ones causes nothing but heartache.

However, playing these kind of mind games with yourself can actually strengthen your mind and even make you smarter!

Have you ever wanted to be ambidextrous? People who can use both hands equally well are known as ambidextrous.

If you aren’t naturally able to switch between both hands, learning how to use your non-dominant hand can result in increased brain activity.

Switch your computer mouse to the other side, start brushing your teeth and eating with your other hand. It can be tricky at first, but it will give your brain a great workout!

If you’ve never mastered the art of eating with chopsticks, this technique should definitely be on your list of brain-developing activities.

Teaching yourself how to eat mindfully not only helps you to focus on the details, but it also helps with digestion and calorie consumption.

This one should be done carefully – especially if you aren’t particularly good on your feet. Start by closing your eyes while you take a shower, or fold laundry.

This kind of activity forces your brain to use new neural pathways and stimulates your other senses such as touch and smell.

Police Officer In President Trump’s Motorcade Crashes, But The President Gives Him A Special Surprise

A routine trip to the airport took a scary turn earlier this week when a motorcycle officer in President Trump’s motorcade crashed.

On Wednesday, President Trump and his security detail were driving down Interstate 70 in Indianapolis when Officer Robert Turner crashed. Details of the incident are scarce, but the officer was spotted “injured but moving” by reporters in a press van following the motorcade.

Turner’s motorcycle could also be seen flipped onto its side in the middle of the road. Because of security reasons, the motorcade could not stop to help Turner, which meant the officer was stranded on the road until emergency responders arrived to help him.

When he reached the airport, President Trump was seen speaking with other motorcycle officers, and he must have been asking if Turner was alright. As we later found out, the president stopped Air Force One from taking off until he could do something special for the officer…
