Meghan Markle Breaks Another Royal Rule, But She Did It For A 10-Year-Old Girl

The engagement of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle seems to be all the world can talk about right now, and for good reason! It’s so exciting that an American woman will be marrying into the royal family, and the fact that she’s an actress we have all been watching for years is just the cherry on top!

We’ve all been keeping up with the engagement, and trying to see how Markle will adapt to the royal rules. So far, she’s already come under fire for breaking rules about her hairstyles, but apparently that hasn’t deterred her from continuing to be her own person.

The royal-to-be broke protocols that have been in place for decades, but it was all for a 10-year-old girl. Caitlin Clark was lucky enough to meet the engaged couple on January 18th, outside of the Cardiff Castle in Wales. Excited to meet Markle, she quickly asked for an autograph. While it may seem like a simple request, it is a strictly forbidden practice in the royal family.

The reason they don’t give autographs isn’t because they don’t want to appreciate their fans, but because of something a lot more serious.

12 Weird Rules Josh Duggar Makes His Wife Follow

As we know the Duggar family has a strict guideline about what they expect from their family members. After all, both Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar have set out clear expectations for their children.

While the family believes that their are transparent when it comes to their views and how the world should work, the set of “family rules” they have can seem questionable to anyone that is not within their community.

According to the family, they are not permitted to engaged in any form of affection before they’re married, cannot dance, drink or disobey your husband. Divorce is out of the question, even if one partner has done something horribly wrong.

If one person knows these rules all too well, it’s Anna Duggar, Josh Duggar’s wife. After the dust settled from his multiple scandals that came to light back in 2015, people were surprised that Anna didn’t take the children and leave him. Not only did she have to stay, but Josh and Anna had another child when he came back home from rehab.

Her commitment to the family is has been tested, especially after you learn the length of control Josh has over his family and his wife.

It doesn’t matter how many times your husband has done you wrong by cheating, embarrassing and humiliating you, leaving is not an option in the Duggar household. A Duggar wife knows that once she has said her vows and committed to her husband, it’s for life.

A source to the family said,“Divorce is not even something that will be discussed.”

Even after Josh Duggar was caught cheating on his wife using his Ashley Madison account, Anna must stick by him and their family.

There’s no such thing as a “headache” or not in the mood in the Josh and Anna relationship. As the wife of Josh Duggar, you have to be ready to satisfy your husband when the mood strikes him, whether you’re in the mood or not.

The Duggars believe that a woman needs to make herself available at any given moment.

“Anyone can fix him lunch, but only one person can meet that physical need of love that he has, and you always need to be available when he calls,” Michelle Duggar said.

The Richest

Josh has the authority to choose who Anna befriends and spends time with beyond their family, and that cannot include any unwed mothers.

There was even an instance where Michelle and Jim Bob refused to let their daughter Jill help Susanna Keller, Anna’s sister. That’s because the parents didn’t want to expose Jill to an unwed mother in that condition. Anna and her sister are very close, so does that mean she can’t hang out with her own siblings?

Everyone knows that the Duggars are a frugal family, especially since they have many mouths to feed with only Josh working. They live on such a tight budget that they offer nothing more than a few pennies to the children when they complete their chore.

Whenever Anna wants to buy something she has to ask her husband’s permission as if she was a child, not his wife.

For the sake of modesty, you will notice that the female members of the Duggar family don’t wear pants. Often they are pictured wearing long denim skirts. It’s a Duggar family rule that dates back long before Michelle even started having children. It’s also a rule that he insists Anna abide by.

In contrast, there are no rules and restrictions as to what the male Duggar family members can wear.

It doesn’t matter how hot it is, the Duggars are banned from the beach. It’s not just the wearing a bikini in public that has the family stay away from the common summer escape, it’s the fact that the guys have a hard time staying focused.

“It’s just too hard for the guys to try and keep their eyes averted,” according to Michelle.

So if Anna wants to get a little Vitamin D from the sun, she has no choice but to sit in her backyard.

Schools Are Trying Creative Ways To Keep Phones Out Of Classrooms

Kids are starting to get their first cellphones at younger and younger ages. Not only are they now all in possession of the latest technology, but they are addicted to it, to the point where teachers and schools are starting to have to take some creative measures to combat cellphone use in the classroom.

If you were to ask any current grade school, high school, or post-secondary teacher, cellphones are having a damning effect on the education of our youth. They spend more time starring at those screens than they do paying attention to what is being taught that teachers find themselves repeating themselves more times than not.

“You can see that they’re not listening to you,” says history teacher Tony Patelis, at Newton North High School in Massachusetts. “They’re looking down, and they tell me they’re checking the time, even though the clock is on the wall.”

Teachers have been trying to figure out how to combat this classroom epidemic, and thanks to Yondr, a company started by Graham Dugoni, four years ago, the teachers now have the “weapon” needed to win the war against technology.

Yondr has designed and built phone sized pouches made from soft material than can be locked up in much the same way that clothing is secured in retail stores. It means that once a phone is placed in one of these bags, students cannot get them out without a magnetic key. It may seem draconian, but apparently this strategy is working, even if the students aren’t happy about it.

At the City on a Hill Circuit Street charter school in Boston, they have set up a system where students must put their phones in one of these pouches when they first enter the building, and they can’t get them back out until the end of the day. Students are allowed to keep their phones (in the pouches) on them as they go about their day, but they are completely incapable of actually using them during that time.

Is it really necessary though?

Never Call Her “The Queen,” And 5 Other Rules About Meeting Her Royal Highness

It’s not like the Queen of England spends her time criss-crossing America to say “hello” to everyone, but we wouldn’t want to be unprepared if we ever cross paths.

Of course, after holding her title for more than 60 years, the queen has her routine for making a polite introduction down to a science. But you should also know how to impress the royal family by following their famously stiff rules.

Even stars have to mind their Ps and Qs around the queen.Splash News

Everything from the way they sit, to the words they use, the food they eat, and the way they dress has been decided ahead of time to keep the royal family from embarrassing themselves in public.

If you find yourself in a room with the queen, it’s important to play by her rules. And that includes never calling her “the queen.”

1. It’s “your majesty,” thank you.

While Queen Elizabeth is part of her full royal title, it’s considered rude to use her full name. Instead, greet her as “your majesty,” then switch to the less formal “ma’am,” which is considered perfectly polite.

Above all, avoid saying any royal nicknames out loud.

2. Let her make the first move.

If the queen wants to shake your hand, she’ll offer hers. Let the queen initiate any contact, or else you could get in trouble with her security guards.

Even Canada’s Governor General found himself in trouble after politely offering the queen his hand on a staircase.

But those aren’t the only rules to keep in mind.

The Hidden Meaning Behind Amish Clothing Rules

Despite the fact that the Amish make up less than one percent of America’s population, their solitary and unusual way of life attracts a lot of interest from the outside world.

It turns out there’s a lot we misunderstand or just get wrong about the Amish and their traditions. Most of the questions that outsiders (or “English,” as the Amish call them) ask are about the Amish dress code.

While it’s pretty simple, you might be surprised by what’s allowed and what isn’t.

Amish Dress For Men

The rule of thumb for all Amish clothing is that it should be plain, to avoid calling attention to yourself or standing out from the crowd. The Amish believe this promotes modesty, and helps them live apart from the rest of society.

Even buttons, neckties, zippers, and belt buckles are too flashy for most Amish, so you won’t see men wearing them. Instead, they dress in dark trousers with suspenders, a dark vest or coat, and a straw or felt hat (depending on the season).

Their jackets – called mutza suits – don’t feature collars or lapels, and use hook-and-eye fasteners instead of buttons.

The Amish don’t wear wedding rings, but you can spot a married Amish man by his beard. Boys stay clean shaven until they’re married, then grow a beard – but not a mustache, which is too flashy and associated with the military by the pacifist Amish.

Amish men take their beards seriously, and cutting one off can be considered a hate crime.

And Amish women have a dress code that’s just as strict.
